it is possible to launch the game with your account offline, but not to login with offline accounts like you say.

Thanks for the reply Hylis. I assume that if it is a mistake that you are given a choice of an offline profile when you launch the game, then it will be fixed in a patch at some point?

I don't really think though that having all of the scores for an online profile in the cloud is a good reason or explanation for not being able to do the campaign offline as well. I can't believe that it would be particularly tricky to record times and medals for offline profiles locally, while still having times of online profiles in the cloud. Having some sort of offline leaderboard to compare times between offline profiles on the same PC wouldn't be exactly hard.

To me it still looks like a deliberate decision to "encourage" families or other people who are likely to share the same PC to buy the game multiple times. I'd forgotten that this was a Ubisoft game - I'd deliberately avoided buying their games for a long time, but caved in to get this as I'd bought all of the other TM games and I'd heard that there was no DRM on TM2. Looks like the DRM was actually of an altogether more insidious nature after all

I have the same problem with my brother and he can't play TM2 offline, we can only play splitscreen  (well, not in MP 2.0)

I think that any online account should activate several offline accounts (maybe 10), or offline accounts that you can buy for 1000 planets.

In TMUF, my cousin had a online account and my brothers, cousins and I had offline accounts (we could play solo and create maps), but in TM2 the only account is mine. I am very disappointed.

BTW, in Maniaplanet 2.0 splitscreen doesn't work :? , it appears a black screen asking for a script, I searched in the games' files and found "TMSplitScreen_Competition.Script.txt", but when I copied it an error message appeared saying that "Libs/Nadeo/TrackMania/TM.Script.txt" doesn't exist...

Have got to admit to being VERY disappointed with TM2, TMUF was so much simpler to understand and operate. I've always avoided buying Ubisoft games through both bad experiences and horrific reports.... because it was Nadeo I thought it would be different. 9 months into the 'paid for' game and we're still in beta as far as I'm concerned :x

Why this feature is not in TM2? Is there any problem with it? I have to buy one game for every person in my family?

ONLY if you want all of them to play online.
Splitscreen allows you to connect offline accounts with an online account, but other than that, offline accounts can't really play.

Well, I think the problem is that in TMUF you could create infinite offline accounts and with a no-cd patch anyone could play offline without paying. Now in TM2 ther is only 1 account per game.

To fix this I think they should do sub-profiles (you connect with your online account and then select an offline sub-profile for another person) or offline accounts for 1000 planets (so there are not infinite accounts per game playing at the same time).

Just purchased TM2, and found this out, hmm not good.
So if my kid or Mrs want to play (online or offline) they have to use MY account thus doing MY achievements or I pay again for another account or two, not good enough Nadeo.
Why you haven't allowed a playable offline account or as the above post mentions, a sub-account linked to the main account stinks...

I haven't upgraded yet to MP 2.0 because I mostly play offline and heard that with the 2.0 update offline solo play does not work. Is this still the case? Has 2.0 been fixed to where I can create maps and race them offline yet?

just tried - it still doesn't work ): says that you must be connected to the internet to play this version of the game.
