I played a bit of speedball today and I see it's still as awesome as always. I think OT is still not perfect though.
While I love the idea of whoever holds the ball for the longest in OT wins, having to wait for the ball to reset before OT starts can be a bit of a problem. I think I had two games that went on for 10 minutes after the countdown went to zero before OT even started (because it took so long for the ball to be alone for 5 seconds till it resets). Kinda defeats the purpose of overtime doesn't it?
I think I would prefer the short pain and getting into overtime as soon as the clock hits zero the first, even if it disadvantages the team who has the ball currently. Improves the flow of the game I think.
EDIT:
I messed around with the script a bit, I think I removed the requirement for the ball to reset before going into overtime. I also adjusted the rules text for good measure. If a server wants to try this out, be my guest.
SpeedBall No Waiting for the ball reset before OT kicks in.

Especially with many players.. Maybe the default reset time should be reduced to 4 seconds or there could be a maximum duration of the extra time (after the the usual round time and before the OT starts) of somewhat like 5 minutes.

Yep, i'm quite agree with this "5 more minutes". Right now, we can take our time, but with that rule, it will be more agressivesteeffeen wrote:You're right. sometimes the rounds last like forever.. :/
