Should remind here that organizing (picking maps etc) the ESWC is NOT Nadeo's job.
Anyway what I think would be the most viable solution to make everyone happy is contact the eswc staff so that they start a poll with the maps from the most recent mappack & classic maps like collided, the castle & some of the new maps and let the community vote.

But complaining to Nadeo about it is not gonna do a thing. Because they don't have anything to do with it.
Well , clearly a ordinary everyday player isnt contacting admins of one of the biggest lans on the planet to ask for maps?
Its not our job, duh!
+ As you can notice if you read posts carefully, NADEO had contact with the admins. How else would they know the criteria? + papy ( is from nadeo ) and he made maps so...

Why cant he (NADEO )contact them for us?

PS : Sorry PAPPY if you feel super offended in this thread. Its not ur fault bro :) Most of the critics is towards NADEO :)

And, for the last time : Don't get mad at me while I'm taking time on my vacations to explain things to you, as I'm only following what ESWC officials wanted.

Then make a list of the maps that are suitable for ESWC and ask everyone to vote. How hard is that ? Why imposing 3 new maps to us, which obviously NOONE except the map makers themselves like ?

No, they were not. It was enjoyable to watch for a few which were aware enough about the game but others were mostly not attracted because it was just boring not knowing what's happening. It seems you're not caring at all about having a wide the audience. But without audience, you won't have big events forever.

maybe 'good adversting' works.

People watch games cuz its fun , fast & enjoyable. Not because of the grapics at all.
Btw streaming quality is usualy shit. A lot of players watch 480p so its always Squaremania.

I will proof it to you : CS1.6 ( shittttttt graphics compared to SM ) has 50k viewers on streams easily :)
Because , newsflash , people dont watch streams for the graphics.

With these maps & settings, players will leave and we dont need big events anymore :)

I'll be very clear, Tazzmajazz asked me to do this selection. Contact him if necessary.

Remember : Maps need to be :

- Good looking /realistic scenery/ No random blocks

- Very little / no camping behaviour

Good luck meeting those criterias.

I've taken enough blame for things i'm not responsible for. I'm done here.

Maniaplanet used to be a community with love.. just what Trackmania has been the last 10 years. This thread is a huge slap in the face for me and I guess for many of us.

:0010 for the behavior.

@dreammy: So you're saying someone who has never played Quake could enjoy watching a Quake match just thanks to advertising? The appearance isn't really about good graphics. You need the action to be easily understandable and coherent maps (which excludes maps with grids and walls placed everywhere in very ugly ways like it is in some of them).

Sure, caps lock will help.

@ Sephis : clever edit, but don't transform the meaning of my post. Thanks.
