killaprodtm wrote:The concern is the mapfile size. As you saw in District 25 (a huge mx community map), the mapsize already exceeded the 1 MB limit (which was the multiplayer-combatible sizelimit), so it meant it couldn't be played online. Now the filelimit was raised to 2MB, making space for embedded blocks. Having a bigger map results in bigger filesizes. Even if the filelimit wouldn't be existent, other players with worse internet would have problems playing online, because they had do download approx. more than 20 s before having it downloaded (then try to calculate the map loading time etc. and you have 35-40s)

I see, but the block count and "displaycost" could be limited to the same amount you can do in the space available right now or is there more into it?

Many players (like me) (maybe even most of players??) are playing offline most of the time anyway so maybe the biger area could be enabled only for offline-only (excluding LAN perhaps) maps?

Online competetive play (like tight tech maps, using often only small area even from the space available now) is one thing, but having fun with experimenting/crazy/stunts/awesome stuff offline is another and there are RPG maps too

I have to say the contrary. Most players I know, including me, enjoy playing online against each others a lot more than solo racing :P
I guess everyone is a bit different ;)

One thing I've forgotten to add last time:
- visible camera path in the Media Tracker (show/hide with shortcut, dotted or plain line, possibly also vector arrows)
- color of the path should indicate camera movement speed: green is normal, blue is slow, orange fast, yellow faster and white is lightspeed

I almost forgot, with shootmania elite if you lose a match and you have positive score (like +12 -8) you wont get -points but +points because on matchmaking you get a random team and isnt your fault that you lost if you got a good score

Maybe some people don't forget them, but simply don't like them. I will puke all over this forum, the day I am forced to add that nonsense to my maps.
Nonsense? You're an offline player I guess.
At least placing an annoying warning severely simulating everyone to build a podium fixes the issue of ugly online endgames. I plainly forget the podiums because I don't realize it until I play online :P.

Sorry but I really do not support this in any way. The interface now is great.

Please refrain from any further discussion in this topic.
This is a wishlist, where everyone can post what they would like to see in ManiaPlanet, TrackMania and ShootMania.

Posting a wish once is enough, there won't be more chance to get this wish forfilled if you post it more times.
