Very tricky, the registration procedure... do we need to keep the redundant installation of Maniaplanet in Uplay or Steam for the duration of the beta test or can we uninstall it again already now?

It was never promised, but only told as possible idea for the future.
Now please let Nadeo first bring Lagoon to the regular Maniaplanet successfully before asking for gifts or even claiming for then, ok?

In my case, I completed my Lagoon registration via the ShootMania demo from Uplay. When I logged into ManiaPlanet from Uplay, I noticed that all of my stations were in their proper places, my custom car choices for each TM environment were preserved, and my medals on the solo maps were intact.

I checked Windows Task Manager, and I found out that my local installation of ManiaPlanet was running. Also, since the "Play" button appeared right away after I added the demo to Uplay, I am led to believe that the Uplay ShootMania demo is just a special (in that it allowed detection of my TrackMania Turbo ownership) shortcut to the local installation of ManiaPlanet (if the installation exists), rather than a redundant installation of ManiaPlanet.

On the other hand, the Steam version of ManiaPlanet seems to be different, since switching between titles requires a restart (source).

You guys are always jumping instantaneously on the smallest bit of information, interpreting miraculous things out of that and then claiming things which were never really promised, instead of being patient and waiting for the final official information.

Both lines taken together tell clearly: owners of Turbo will also get Lagoon for free in Maniaplanet 4 and that they can use the beta from today on.

But it does not tell if owners of previous Trackmania² titles will get it if they don't have Turbo as well.

yes and no, somehow, but thanks I forgot to mention that I let Uplay install Shootmania in a separate Maniaplanet folder

It is better to publish accurate information. If the information is blurry, it was better to write just about the beta without the free full version. Nothing complicated.

Since i have not got TMT on pc and only on xbox one, i am guessing i have to buy it "tmt" in the future to play it for pc ?

I bought Trackmania Turbo on Uplay, and I have Trackmania 2 Stadium on Steam. Maniaplanet is already installed, so I tried to get the Uplay demo of SM. Now this happened: Corrupted installation. Please reinstall the game. I reinstalled, I deleted my whole ManiaPlanet, I deleted Everything that had to do with it, I made a new file named "ManiaPlanet2" so it don't gets broken with "ManiaPlanet". Nothing helped... On the Maniaplanet site, it tells me to install it on the same envoirment, so Uplay, but nothing seems to work. Now what? Help plz.
