It is not because trackmania is not in the car simulation world that it is a carebear game. Most of the community is, but that's not the game

It not "fair" to say this, I just wanted to "warn", that a "modern" shooter doest not necessarily have to be a war simulator and it is not trackmania that is a carebear game, but the community around it. And it is cool

People are not here to kill each others.

but i was serious, a shooter with love as weapon could be a real nice game
i think there is no need to kill anyone to enjoy a fps but maybe i'm a bit too extremist, i'm sure that you'll find the good balance between a massacre gore shooter and the carebears

I think we have it and it makes us feel really good in the game. It removes this permanent taste that I have today with war based shooters and make you feel more in the game for real. But that's the point of view that people that played so far. I am not sure we have tested with war addict yet, but they are not so many. It is a little like car simulation, there are some, but most of people like racing game more than simulation for simulation only.

Are you saying that Shootmania isn't a FPS in which we kill each others ?

yep! i absolutely hope, that this slang of some gamers wont arrive in shootmania - for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKSj0Z0spqo
it would be a shame, if you play a game and really want to kill the others, because you getting so f***ing angry ...
hopefully...

gekko asked ("why you want single player")
why do I want single player maps? glad you asked.
maps
-numbers of computer bots can be massive (never ending supply of enemies)
-you are the target (removes combat quiet time... when the enemy is fighting in a different location)
-no one gets mad if you want to camp a spawn point with computer bots coming out of it
-1 V 1 million
-stealth missions when the enemy will stay still long enough for me to sneak up on
-ability to make millions of tutorial maps with stationary bad guys
-me and my friends are noobs at shooters... so we want to play against less skilled computer bots
-8 player maps that all 8 players can't beat the computer... that is a good map
-an idea for a map might be to free allied computer players in a building and keep them safe
-protection of a computer bot while players are trying to kill it
-making a map where you toy with the computer... say put their spawn point in a bad spot so you can kill him all day
-noob map makers will be able to practice with their maps before publishing them (to see if a hallway is tight enough)
I could go on... shall i?
-running over computer bots
-blowing them up all the time wont make them mad
-computers don't cheat
-some people (out of the 10 million that will sign up) don't have friends and prefer to kill alone
-if the game is going to be on disk... some people don't have online and can only make maps for themselves
-make an unbeatable single player map (like D-Day where you simply can NOT take the beach) or add co-op.
-make a zero time limit, zero number of kills... simply take over all spawn points (and make one impossible)
These are just a few reasons I want single player maps and the ability to add computer enemies (bots). I have played Battlefield 2 mods with single player maps and some people can make awesome maps. A king of the hill map for instance where I was in a squad of other computer bots. It was like the PC V PC but I was in it. and I could not take the hill. There was no time limit, simply take the hill and you win, this lasted for hours, and I LOVED the time i had trying to take that darn hill. My internet went down and I could only play the single player maps that I downloaded. I am not good at making maps but I think ManiaPlanets map maker is user friendly and I could make my own mountain that can't be beat.
