Yep, the trailer was indeed nice :)
Too bad the engine sounds won't be in the game in the end, they were really awesome :(

:(

Well, I know two things that could happen.

1) Nadeo will take our response to the engine FX and maybe change the Canyon Car's engine sounds to something similar

or

2) Someone will make the custom engine sounds xD

Well; honesty is the best policy anyway, imo. Roll on September!

When I watched TM2 trailer, I was surprised, but somehow not dissapointed. Imo, Nadeo should've make at least 30s longer video, but I think, after I read people opinions, that a lot of them is critising Nadeo too much. Besides the great engine sound, there was only couple good opinions about the trailer itself. We should look at it from the other perspective, eg. at least we know more about the handling, we also see better the track elements, not just from the magazine and so on. And considering the fact, that Nadeo is working hard for ManiaPlanet and all 3 games, we cannot push them only because of our wants. Give Nadeo a little break and let's see what will they give us further. I'm not ass-licking here at all. This is just my opinion.

Séane.

I remember Hylis saying, that they'll try to improve the engine sounds.
Maybe reaby can look through the chatlog to find the quote ;)

WHAT? the engine sound was so amazing, why do they put it in the trailer, when it won't be in the game? fail for me...

I thought this engine sound was for real, it was the best part of the trailer and now we know that the trailer was a lie?

I pretty feel like the trailer hoosed us all...

anyway the presentation was way to short and I would say about 80% of all spectators of the conference, who didn't know tm2, did not understand that you can build your own map.

Even if there was no time, they could have said the most important things , that everyone can make their own map with the editor!

Sry Nadeo, normaly I support you and I love Tm2, but that was a big fail

The engine sound wasn't fail. It caused attention and made the game more interesting. So more players will go to the TM2 booth to test the game. There they can also get additional informations about how the game works.
But in the presentation they didn't have enough time for that. You cannot explain the whole MP-system so fast.
When you leave something out, then it's bad as well because some players might find it too simple or they want more...
I hope you understood what I mean?

*looked at le trailer again with sound*

HOOOOOOLY CRAAAAAP! DAMN IT! Oh, Florent, PLEASE improve those sounds if those weren't the actual ingame ones. That was more realistic than real life itself! And yes, when seeing that I love the fact that my laptop has a JBL subwoofer 8-)

Okay, too bad that new players won't get the sense of the fact that this is a racing game from the video....
And because I have to go now I can't write more but will write it later. *cu*

The engine sound was just a lure. If somebody want to buy the game and hears the real sound he could be pissed of. So we can just hope the real engine sound will be as good as the lure.

Also when you look at the conference again they had 5 min

1:30 was the trailer, so there were 3:30 min left

in 3:30 min you can say that everyone in Tm2 can make his own map with the map editor and you will still have 3 minutes left

in this 3 minutes you could make 1 min a Editor trailer then you have 2 minutes left. In this 2 minutes you could do much more...

they just talked about 10 milion people blabla and they are happy to be on the stage.....

this is a fail for me and you can't convince me on this one...

again the trailer was good, that's not the point @ SiH13, but it's not right to lie about engine sound.

tell me anygame where you saw for example a weapon in the trailer , which is later not available , reason:

we just wanted to have more selled games.

.....
