thing is, wont only just be french :D. The prize pool for TM will be quite large i suspect, with some belgians and dutch surely attending. It is the biggest LAN in france after all ;)

I wouldn't start crying "drought" just because the first Summer rain hit my neighbor's fields and not mine. ;)

It won't be only french ... maybe, but it will be 95% european for the beta, this still isn't very fair. ;)

LOL I'm American and I'm not complaining, you're European and you are...something's backwards here. Just playin', but seriously, I don't have a problem with having the majority of the beta testers being European, at leastfor the original run. Again, a lot of Americans don't even know about TM, and so this is simply a reflection of demographics. Even if I don't get in on the beta, you can be darn sure I'll buy it day one of release!

Pls guys, don't discuss if there are more betaplayers from one country than from the other. And don't speak of unfairness.
It is Nadeos choice.
Also we are all players. It doesn't matter where we are from because player=player. It's so simple ;)

Why all the foregone conclusions about the beta all of a sudden? We're still a week away from July. And we don't even know if the beta will come July 1, or if it will be later on.

I doubt country of origin has much to do with it.

Being able to express yourself in a language that the Nadeo team can understand is important for obvious reasons. But beyond that, why would your country have anything to do with it?

Let's just focus on other things and leave the beta stuff up to Nadeo. This isn't their first time on the merry-go-round.

You shouldn't turn things around.
It would be cool if you got a chance to play the beta, but it is silly to say that it is unfair that other people might get a beta key, whatever the reason might be.
Beta is not a right, beta is not a public game.
Everyone will have the right to play the game when it comes out...

Please don't make a topic of that matter.

Knutsel maybe you didn't get the point. It was about the closed beta. In the closed beta peope get an invite, this can't be ,,random´´ people, that's why it would be unfair if you can win a closed beta key at the Lille Arena.

But the keys from Lille Arena are for the open beta= everybody can join, that's why it's called open, probably you have to register and so on..

That's why it's fair. It wouldn't be fair if you get keys for the closed beta on a event , because its closed

receiving a closed beta key at such an event would be fair, cause the tmn and tmu hardcore are more likely to be better beta testers in terms of knowing tm physics inside-out...

I'm hoping there will be testers from all skill levels and not just the extreme pros who win tournaments though -- in fact I think there should be some testers who have never tried TM before, especially as Nadeo seems to be trying to draw more people into the game.
I don't want a game that's biased toward a particular group of players (even if that group is the not-so-skilled players like me). I don't think Nadeo wants that either (and they have done a really good job of balance and non-bias in the past). You want feedback from all the different types of people who will buy and play the game, not just those who will be good at it.

And there's always the possibility that some bugs are more likely to present themselves to players who are less skilled as well (say a bug that only happens if you take several minutes longer than the author time on a track, or if you consistently respawn a certain number of times after you've gone off a particular jump block).

I'm sure Nadeo has already considered this, and if they're not doing this there is a good reason for it.

I don't expect to get into any beta test for TM2... I don't expect I'd have the time or the motivation to test as much as they would want me to -- I like my summer job right now, and my primary motivation at the moment is to stay at my best for this job. Honestly I think it would be a bad move to choose me for a beta test. So this isn't an argument for me being in the beta test.

Besides, Nadeo already knows what job I would want with them, and it's not beta tester :P.

Like I've said before, I trust Nadeo to come up with a good product, because so far they've proven that they're good at what they do.
