tcq wrote:Sure, i would be able to download, even through the mentioned problems like speed and download limit. But what i really hate on this kind of situation is, that you always need to save the stuff you downloaded and not get already a save copy to your hand. As you all know, a pc game cd holds way longer than a self burned cd and if you are installing all environments on a HDD or an USB stick, they will be wrecked sometime sooner or later maybe due to a hardware problem or other stuff and a CD is way more robust. E.g still can play my old PS1 games afer 15 years without a problem.
Maybe it just sounds bad, but this is simple my opinion about all of the online stuff. I prefere to hold something in my hand, instead of only having a digital copy somewhere. Need to run a 10x3 TB System RAID60 to save all my files and running put of disk space atm -_-
youre DVD gets broken or it has damage, what do you do?

thats why I prefer digital versions, because I will be able FOREVER to download it ( if the servers are not down :D)
i'm with tcq on this one...
and c'mooonn a cd/dvd damaged that bad that it didn't work anymore? :o I never ever had that ! If you had that, perhaps you should be more carefull t your stuff....

I never had that too, but I just say you will have the game forever and with the cd the POSSIBILITY is higher to loose the game because of skin deep for example..

You see? By all means, you have another proof why boxed version is better than digital. Of course, we know now how to buy a digital version, but it doesn't change the fact, that a box will always be a box.

Never had a problem with a CD, if you use and store it properly. But on the other side i had about 5 crashed HDDs.

That discussion right now is the reason why I think selling both a boxed and a digital version of TM² is the best thing Nadeo can do. Everyone can choose what he wants and can be happy with it, there's no arguing about which version is better now, nobody is mad because the version he/she wants isn't available, and Nadeo can sell more games than they'd do if there was only a boxed/a digital version. Perfect solution imo. Or is there something bad at it?

I never had a crashed hard drive. Although mine is used daily and sometimes 10 hours in a row. Also, I make back-ups of my HDD, so that I can restore all my data if it should ever crash ;)
Also, if you only buy boxed games and you have a small room - where do you want to put all the boxes? Just look at my room, it isn't even that small and still every single corner of it is filled. With school stuff, other things I need for my daily life, paperwork and empty paper, films, music, other DVDs, books, game consoles, and tons of games for all devices. I don't want it to be even fuller. You have to admit that a digital version has an advantage there. You save space in your room, and that's important, at least for me.
Nothing against boxed versions though, I like those too, you're not dependent on a hard drive, a disk can be used forever if you take care of it, and you can be proud if you have completed the whole Maniaplanet collection and is standing one a shelf or your desk.

Then why are we discussing it then? That discussion is useless... especially because Nadeo said already that the game will only be distributed as a download and there won't be a boxed version. Also, if people have a clear opinion about something, I wouldn't try to change their mind. Let people who want a boxed version want a boxed version and people who prefer digital versions prefer digital versions.
