but why wasn't it released on the same day?..

Because Nadeo needs instant cash, so they just get now first-day sales then wait a bit and release a demo. Oh and btw, community is already torn apart, teams are falling apart (like they needed this to do so), and most competitive players (at least on the FS scene) won't play tm².

Because the devs have others priorities for the moment, TrackMania Nations Forever is still opened if "you" want play for free

@75alex
Imho thats also part due to people like you. How do you think we ran those servers in Trackmania before the freezone?
at home, where your family members are start a download and the server starts lagging as hell? No by renting servers in datacenters, which costs money - every month-. Im not going to discuss what i spend to run 12 servers in TMUF, but if you can think logical that goes way beyond 9,99. In fact we should also ask money from you play (lag free) on our servers.
Thats all im gonnay say
@TGYoshi if u can wait until i get back from work yes

In other words, it's good marketing.

Teams are always falling apart and new ones are coming up. Nothing new there. Whenever there's a transitional period in the community, you will always see it happening a bit more. We experienced this in United with a lot of teams falling apart because half the players moved to Canyon and half stayed in United. Some teams survived the change, some didn't. But you can't avoid change just to keep the status quo forever.

Even if this is true, they'll eventually discover that the cam bugs that were ruining FS tracks earlier in the beta have been fixed for some weeks and the game is once again great for FS. FYI, Stadium is my 2nd favorite environment for FS, right behind Island. I'm generally not a big FS fan, but it's always really fun in Stadium.

i had a very unpleasant surprise yesterday
i tried to connect to stadium and im being asked for a key
suddenly i discover that i was not a player, but a non paid beta tester !!!
by the way i am glad to know that i was helpful, sincerely, i mean it.
strangely, i feel a bit bitter.
despite the fact that stadium was introduced in nation,
it only became truly successful and, by your own saying:
"the most popular pc racing game" thanks to nations forever, a FREE game.
i think a paying version is perfectly legitimate, in my opinion 10 euros is a fair price
since this game is simply awesome and you worked hard on it.
it was very clear since the opened beta that there will be a paying version,
but A free version was implicit !
who starts a free beta and throws away the players like you just did yesterday ?
and THAT is the issue: the total lack of communication, before the release, and even after
is there a free version upcoming excluding the maniaplanet features ?
or will canyon owners like me benefit from it in some way ?
no hard feelings anyway, i will buy it a soon as i can, but i am truly surprised by how you dealt with the consumers, and i think it is really not respectful.

Eyebo: I mean players that already did not really want to play Tm², now found an additional reason not to leave tmnf.
And it is good marketing, but it is not good for their brand, from all the reaction i've seen since yesterday, Nadeo really got hit, what was a loved company is not anymore for many many people.
And seeing how dead Stadium was even during the beta, it probably is even worse now !
Just keeping an eye on this:
http://mania-actu.com/eng/staticpages/v ... Statistics
You can see that player number has significantly decreased just yesterday, and it probably will be same today (Last stats at 3pm say 228 players where even yesterday had 428 and the day before over 500)
Weerwolf i dont get your point, i bought TMUF at the time, thanks to TMNF that made me want to discover more (then i lost my email adress and the player key but that's not the point). And I know about server hosting, I run a team on Tm² with 20 players (well maybe less from now seeing how shocked most of us are since yesterday). (Oh and you can host servers at home without lags, with like 20 people on it or more, just get a decent computer and internet connection)

The main problem as I see it (coming from an eSports perspective) Is that TMNF remains available and free which I think causes a split in the competitive community, as a lot of people won't really see the benefits of switching over. Because in some important aspects TMNF is still a better competitive game (although TM2 Stadium got some very attractive features to it for sure).
I just hope Nadeo continues to work on the game and improve those things so that it really becomes the superior version and which would make the switch easy to make for people. Right now it's not really an ideal situation.
