Re: What new Environment would you like to see?
Totally agree! But, would you rather them devote time to that or get more environments out as a whole? I, personally, would rather see a new "base three" enviros out, then they can go back and say "Oh hey, let's add this physics-set to this enviro". But that's just me. Here's a question though if they were to do that. Would the cars from the different physics-sets be able to race each other?

That could be interesting. Choose the car that you think might give you the best time. A car with a unique physics model wouldn't take nearly as long as an entire environment to create. It could even be done by tweaking existing models. I'm not saying they should do one or the other but why not release an environment with 3 vehicles each with unique physics.

But they'd have to balance it. For example (and this is just the simplest example I can think of just after waking up--still not functioning at full brain-speed): they could have a car that is faster than the other, but the other car has a better turning radius, thus being able to regain lost time in corners, where the faster car would have to take a wider path/slow down more.Demented wrote:That could be interesting. Yes, agreed. That would be interesting but it would likely still come down to the best choice. (Or the car the track was made with)
I imagine that Nadeo plays around with physics, trying this and that, changing handling, power, speed, weight, acceleration etcetera until they find that sweet spot that works for an environment and I wonder if they ever felt conflicted with having to choose one or another physics model and wished they could just use both.

Ahhh man... Validating a track with a "decent" author time is allready hard enough with one set of physics.
I don't want to go trough different physics aswell to see what's best/fastest *sigh*

Re: What new Environment would you like to see?
very good point, zarexz
Different car physics would also mean different optimal CP positions for respawn.
A CP before a looping or jump would have to be moved way back for Valley car compared to Canyon car.

Very true--didn't think of that...TMarc wrote:very good point, zarexz![]()

How about this...
If you chose a vehicle before building (as we choose a mood now) then you would still build your track based on the car & physics you wanted to use and there would be no multi car validation and no choosing which car to race with. Once you validate and save your track the vehicle type would be locked to it and used in challenges. While still editing though you could always change to a different vehicle if you needed to as you would now change from Daytime to Sunset.

Thanks.
Really having three cars (each with unique physics) to pick from would be a lot like having three environments in one, just without different graphics.
