to haenry: Yes, deco-block don't make you build better maps, also as custom skins, horns, cars or envi-mods. It just make you feel different.
Anyway if you want for additional blocks for existing roads, you need to wait a lot, because it is hardiest blocks to create, we have no sources of existing blocks to make nice mutations of it, ofc i can make something primitive as boxes with different slopes and turns, but i not going to make this.
I prefer to begin from deco-blocks because it easiest to do.
also am a game artist, and it is my passion to decorate everything, so forgive me :D
All you see on my screens it is just a simple dummy sketch-like low-quality models, i even have no plans to finalize it and release, it is just test.
The final models will be completely different, and with quality that not-less then NADEO's models (i'll try my best).

i have an idea, can you select the one block that you need more then others? And i will try to make the simple dummy version of it for you, and you will test it. (just remember that we have only collision and simple "out of scene" shading for now).

I don't know if this means that you would like to take requests, but this is the type of scenery blocks that I think would not change the vibe of canyon.

@Coastkid: I am aware, that I have to wait long. No problem with that, as long as the quality pays out to be good then.
However, I have no problem with these deco-blocks. Continue with them and make additional tests. No one forbids you to use them (well maybe Nadeo at some point  )

Concerning the blocks, which are really necessary: I don't think, that you can create them already (e.g. banked cps on GP road). arc_ has to implement clips and other stuff first. I think mpbc is in a far too early stage to create some really awesome and useful quality blocks.

But keep up practicing, as you'll be responsible for the block quality in the future :roflol:
(of course not)

Agree Banjee, these blocks would fit well into the canyon landscape

I would only use this block if it came with true particle support (clouds of smoke) and not some terrible 2D image that spins like the trees in Canyon.

Good examples, i like the industrial theme a lot, it is already one o themes that i want to implement.
I think we can collect reference materials on this and other themes in special topic.

I get this error while trying to run the manialink thing:

EDIT: Suddenly being unable to place a block as well. It just shows a red selection marker, forever. Whenever I place anything else and re-select the block it becomes green, yet I'm unable to place it.
The icon is pretty much the only thing that works now.

arc_ wrote:One restriction is that to use the blocks ingame, you need TM2Unlimiter... TM2Unlimiter lifts this restriction. If you want to use custom blocks without having to install TM2Unlimiter, petition Nadeo to remove it :).
I want to petition Nadeo not to remove it.

A trackbuilders view:

In the beginning of TM, mediatracker wasnt a thing. People didnt care if a track had an intro. After a while though a track without MT wasnt taken serious. So all trackbuilders had to jump the MT train or see their track fail. Personally i got to the point that i spent just as much time on the MT as actually building the track. And sure its satisfying to make good MT but i knew i could have spent that time on building and perhaps making my track even better. Luckely we're at the point again that MT is less important. Ask yourself how many times do you skip an intro when you race online? I bet 90%! :D I also do it! So today I make my intros 6 seconds and i hear noone complain. And I can spend more time on actual building again yay.

So Nadeo please dont repeat history by allowing custom blocks. I dont want to spend more time pimping a track than actually building a track. ;) You guys have fun though!

^ This is just like a texture mod, totally optional but can add something extra.
Who complains about not having a texture mod? Nobody does.
