Having people to play Trackmania, would it be on TM1, TMT or Maniaplanet is the best way to raise the awareness of the game and find the future great contributors of Maniaplanet. This is why I think that being positive and welcoming is really part of the process!
Thanks for the reply, I honestly hope that you're right :thx: I'm just worried that many TM2 players will move to TMT and make TM2 have a smaller community :|

@Hylis : Why would a TM2 player --not-- switch to TMT where he can play everything at once?
Or : Why do you think MP wont lose players?

Well yeah, you basically answered this question already :)
The neverending waiting game has to stop.

I'm not ignoring this. I'm just saying that without players there is "no base" that creators can supply. Who wants to build a house that no one is going to live in?
Let's assume that the "moon project" will be a really nice gaming experience. It will end like raid, that was played for some time and then left in the dust. It will be like the team chase mode which I haven't seen anywhere in valley. It will be like the platform mode in canyon. It will be like the mulite4nvironment title that is barely used. I could go on with this, but what I simply mean is: Without an audience, an artist can't earn enough for it's living.

Why is this so hard to understand? We need player, players and more players. And the only thing that will happen with TMT released is, that maniaplanet will loose players. Valley, a nearly brandnew game has less activity than probably TMSunrise. Doesn't this give you to think? Where are all of the players that should have been part of the maniaplanet enterprise? They ran away after they saw that canyon and valley were nothing as compared to TMU. No diversity, to simulation like car handling. The people played canyon until they got tired of it. Then disappeared and came back to try valley. Got disappointed again and are now playing stadium.
If you really think that you can get players coming from TMT to maniaplanet, than they will disappear as fast as the other players (which were actually the ones grown up with TM1) because of the incomplete state of maniaplanet!

What we need are players now, not in 5 years!

I guess this is kind of my question too ;)

@MrA : Did you say, you will need a few MINUTES?! As far as i remember it, it took you and us very painful hours in (what was it called?!) Mania Group mode back in the united to get your fat ..... erm "tiny Tim" on gold medal times..... :roflol: I hope you have improved, i really do

@eyebo: I still remember when i met you and kent, when you were new to trackmania. I also remember a league match with SFFN, well actually 2 league matches. in one i was cheering you guys to your well earned victory  the other one was not that sucessful for SFFN though, because you faced my team and myself.....

@Hylis: 2 things: 1. For some of us Trackmania is the living room and i knew of now married who have met the first time in Trackmania and they now have children (upcoming racedrivers/trackmaniacs) ......
And 2. For Hello planet #6 do an interview with cerovan and let cerovan communicate that to us. No offense to you, but you should give him some credit in here for clearing things up. You know i think that cerovan guy has some skills too

@all: TMT for me is just a new thing. The old games will live on in my memory, but let´s see what people will meet in trackmania turbo and i hope i will like gameplay.... the rest are just details.

I dont see this like this, again. I see that more people will be aware of Trackmania, play it, enjoy it and look for more. And more will be on Maniaplanet in the long run, of course. But it's link to all the community tools and openess of the plateform. I don't need to talk again for the RPG title pack, the ESL, Stunts or custom TM modes, mixmapping etc. Anyway, the question of a split is rarealy ask for a console edition. Now, we decided to make a PC version for people who don't have a console. It's just cool and if everybody go to this version on PC, then it will not split? but if half exactly go, and that the version does not bring more people ôO, then it will be a split, but for good reasons since they prefer to go there or there. It don't think it should be that complicated.

+1

Also 1 suggestion: I strongly suggest making tutorials for all creative possibilities in TMT to keep the creative community alive. For TMT to truly work, you need to get the players AND the creators invested in the game. If you make skinning, map building, and video making easy to understand, I think you can get some of the new members interested which will really help the community  If you're expecting a large amount of new players, I wouldn't rely on too many of them spending time to figure out all of these things on their own ;)

I think TMT is a good strategy for Nadeo to buy time for Maniaplanet.
We can all see that Maniaplanet still needs a lot of work, so it's reasonable to have more time.
And for the players it is better to have a finished product than something that is still in development. I can see how TMT will catch a ton more players than a new MP environment because it's a proper stand alone and easy accessible for everyone.

And also +1 for an update of the Maniaplanet UI. It is exactly what we need.

Regarding all the inactivity problems: the numbers might seem low, but as far as I can see it they are not falling. I can see no change, neither positive nor negative. So it's fine for the moment.
And judging from the Maniaexchange Monthly Track Contest, which I host, the number of submitted maps is growing constantly. (That's why you all should really give it a try: https://youtu.be/UE4bnqZSFyM yes this is 100% advertising  )
So as long as we get updates from time to time, we will stay alive at least :)

PS: I am surprised to see that the Nadeo team has grown so much.
A nice person is a better person!
Did you participate in a Monthly Track Contest yet?
