It could just be a working name. After all, Nadeo's maps during the Canyon beta also had names. And then when they ended up in the campaign, the names were changed out for numbers.
Well, I too would like named tracks again like we had in TMS.

Yeah. That's one of the reasons that made the TMS campaign so popular. The main one was that the tracks were cleverly built.
Getting rid of the names if also a way to get a "universal" campaign, so that people not understanding English can easily navigate from track to track.
So far all the tracks in the add-on are "named", but I don't know either if it will stay that way.

Is it that hard to translate all the names into the languages the game is offered in?

It's not really a translating issue.
You basically would have to create as many campaigns as the number of languages in the game, as the ingame name depends on the name of the validated track.
It's just not practical. That's why it's English, or no name at all.

The problem with that Banjee is that the track isn't the same anymore. It introduces problems, especially when hosting the maps on a server. For instance, the same track with multiple names would no longer sync across all dedimania records. In my opinion, there should only be one version of the map.
I play tons of maps that have French or German names though. Not knowing what the name of the map means doesn't stifle my enjoyment of a map or make me less likely to play it. So I guess I don't see that as a huge issue.
But I also see the point that A01, A02, etc. is a more universal naming system. I just think it just makes it a little harder to remember which map is which.
Thanks for the reply PapyChampy!
Edit: Oops, I was ninja'd. Nice one PapyChampy.

Yeah, for instance, everyone remembers "Vertigo" from TMS because it is precisely called like that. I picture really well the track in my head. I haven't the same accuracy with "E01" or "E03" from the United campaign, even if the tracks are equally fun/well made.
But yeah, it's a pretty minor problem, as long as you have pleasure with the game.

Agreed.

ok, yeah i understand now with the issue of having duplicate tracks. I like the idea of having the tracks named, I still remember the the last coast track in the Platform Campaign in TMS: Tam-Tam. Boy,
that was a hard track. I guess when it comes down to it i really dont care, I will enjoy the Campaign either way!

The reasons for numbers instead of names seem justified.
Still, I would prefer track names.
Actually, the best solution is a mix of names and numbers.
e.g.: E03 - Vertigo
C12 - Flying Paradise
B06 - randomname
Everyone has the numbers to orientate AND still a trackname. Even on servers you'll identify them, as the tracks a have a number tag (e.g."B12")
But maybe it's just too complicated
