Thanks Hylis for answering me fastly, even if you seems avoiding some parts of my message (the facts). However I satisfy myself to make you warned a little bit more about tm division & communication even if you seems considering it as a little problem.

And I spoke about dreamers not for dividing (although this is not the subject of my message, just to introduce, let's focus on problems), just because I'm afraid of the difference between what I'm hearing on game and what I'm seeing here... I ensure you I don't consider myself having a correct behavour to explain problems. Some other would be more apt to do it. But they explain me why that was useless. But I think that false and that's why I'm writting here.

I cannot blame you for all you did, and I already thanks you for that. I should do it more, but the context is not conducive .The question is : Is what you did and are doing sufficient for satisfying players? If you consider yes, so much for that (at least for me and all the players disappointed).

The new underground blocks are great.. BUT!. you missed a few blocks that need to go with it.

I would like and exit-point so you can go out of the side of a mountain. So you go under the ground then come out the side of a hill created in dirt. Or go/jump in the other way

This would make this just awesome. Can't understand why it is not done.
You can go under ground, but only to come up onto the same level you were on. Would be nice to go up/down levels like you can in canyon.

Perhaps no one thought of this idea before? But not it is too late.
Besides this, please do not forget it is "Stadium", so basically there is no underground, and the new blocks are all we can get here ;)

Cool new blocks, Not very useful for rpg tho, btw the rpg community is ready to port over to tm2 once closed rooms arent THAT dark <.< (or add better/more light sources, or add the ability to create lightning objects)

We didn't blame you for the new game being bad (because the new game is actually pretty good, and I bought it in the very first day :thumbsup: )

Only problem is - as far as we can see you're not doing too much to bring new players into it. Of course, i'm sure you have arguement for this aswell, and some people just can say: "current community have to advertise people into the game themselves", but, unfortunately, that's doesn't work like that, because some tmnf players didn't have much reasons to switch since there is not THAT much new stuff in TM2:S, someone just not able to pay for it 10$.
What about new players - they don't even know much about trackmania and don't have too much ways to try the game, since there's no way you can try it for free at the moment. (which is a shame, it's release after all)

Once again - yeah, you have your own explanations to all this, but fact remains - right now we have lack of players. (well even if we get like 5k, even 10k peak at some day(for example)...is this a lot for a most popular racing game back in the days? ofc no, this is ridiculous. especially now, look at the Dota2/LoL/SC2 peaks...)

Nobody cares how good is game, nobody cares if there's no advertisement anymore if you don't have enough players to play with.

Everybody wants to play games which is popular already, which is everybody talking about, not someday, maybe

perhaps there are simply much too many interesting games out there, or people ony want short casual games on their smartphones ?

No, don't. Why everyone plays is purely a personal matter, just let them do as they want :thumbsup:
Instead of visiting the forum only to complain you should play :pil :mrgreen:

Anyways we can be happy that there are (still) enough players that Nadeo continues the work on it... let's see Valley first, this will certainly attract again some people ... hopefully ;)

I completely agree with Railag.
We must work together to make TM2S popular and above all to make the tmf community switch to tm2. It's a problem, you can't simply slide on it

My additions to the critical comments being made.

First of all my biggest worry is as well the lack of players. Advertisement is very weak.
Why not set a release date? Why not generate hype by little things as teasers? Remember the Canyon images as puzzle pieces?

Besides that, as I went on trying to buy the game I hit the button "Play now" on the Maniaplanet website to buy the game, I get greeted with a french gamesplanet website to buy the game. Right now this issue still is not fixed. The website doesn't even offer a language change selector. We have to play with the url to get to a localized website. Seriously, get this stuff straight already. :roll:

Finally, please try saying what Nadeo is aiming for. Saying there will be a (limited) F2P release for Stadium? Then also deliver. It's so insanely vague right now.
Don't just release the game while leaving the free part away even though it was somewhat promised, or at least expected. I do not complain that the game costs money. I complain about the fact that people expected the F2P bit but it doesn't come.
I can assure this isn't good for PR or maintaining a stable community which is really shrinking already.
Meanwhile a free to play portion of Shootmania was also promised many months ago. It still isn't here and I don't think it'll come anytime soon. People stopped caring.


In the end I still think the whole concept of Maniaplanet doesn't work out well. The idea is good, but it simply doesn't work out.
People have to download a title pack to experience excellent, powerful features like custom objects? Those features are completely hidden and I personally don't care to use it as it requires a title pack. Attracting players to a title pack? It's insanely hard, I suspect. Much harder then it should be.
Features like these are amazing, they even work amazing. Using them sadly doesn't work out well.
People have requested multiple environment servers. I personally agree to it. The current concept of Maniaplanet doesn't support multiple environment servers. Sadly.

I'd love to see a single executable for each game, all servers in the same list (all environments). Simply hide the servers which we can't join. If you join a server with custom objects (specified by the server), those will be downloaded instantly before joining the server (downloading required pack files before joining), so you have the objects and stuff. Then you can instantly join the server and enjoy all amazing new features Maniaplanet has to offer.


To be honest the long term problem lies in the core of Maniaplanet and even though I'm afraid that it's way too late to change it, there are enough other factors Nadeo could improve on, like marketing, hype generation, internationalization (e.g. localized payment website without messing with the url) and more.
