I think that you have to go to eXpansion settings and then auto update and fill in the branch nighty for example hope it helps

There is "Obstacle Progress widget" available already !

eXpansion has two new christmas / wintertime plugins written, have you tried them yet ?
The plugins are called "xmas lights" and "snow for your server"

It is possible to re-create the plugin for eXpansion,
But!
It is the Christmas day today!

In case you would have asked a week ago I would have time to do it, but not today or tomorrow... so maybe later this week, but it might be too late then ?

Totally agree with Reaby , a bit short notice.
