Actually, Nerf weapons would be FUN! :D My favorite was the giant crossbow/rocket spring launcher type thing...I was a BEAST with it. Then they came out with the nerf swords...Good times.

What I want in ShootMania is mobility and lots of it. I want to be able to outrun the world record for the 100 meter dash, just like my boy Duke Nukem. I want equipment that lets me go anywhere, not just on the ground, but in the air as well. High-jump boots, a grappling hook or a jet-pack could do that. Also, jump pads (step on one, jump 10 meters in the air)

I want a health system that doesn't encourage staying in cover, but I'm not saying health packs are the ONLY way to go about that. Giving health for doing something particularly cool or skillful, but keeping a low ceiling on health (nobody wants to live forever) is another possibility.

I want crazy, no, MANIC guns. Yes, the standard hitscan rifle, fully automatic weapon, shotgun and rocket launcher serve MOST games, but give them a unique twist or two. Alternative firing modes for each weapon would be cool and I DEFINITELY wouldn't complain if there was something like the Shock Rifle in Unreal. Also, no sniper rifles outside of Death Match. They add nothing to team-effort game modes like capture the flag.

As for game modes. Go nuts. I mostly played Unreal Tournament 2004 in my teens and I ADORED Bombing Run (two teams on opposing sides of the map with a goal in the back of it, ball spawns in the middle of the map, goal is to get the ball in the other team's goal) but I also like Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. Of course, no matter how it turns out, chances are I'll buy it.

Oh, and one final thing. No iron-sights on PC. I can understand that console players need a second sensitivity setting for their analog stick, but iron-sights really just get in the way.

Well, I can already comment on the game modes: there will be none. :-P Well, at least there won't be any "pre-set" game modes, as far as I can tell. Nadeo's gonna give us a scripting tool that we'll be able to use to create our own game modes with. So we can have anything. Literally.

That seems...odd. Every Trackmania game came with a bunch of tracks out of the box, why wouldn't Shootmania come with a bunch of maps?

No or only few game modes means not no maps.

Exactly. There will be maps, but the game modes will be up to us. Like, there should be some pre-set 'ideas', like they had with checkpoint and lap races...but anything beyond that is really only restricted by our imaginations.

If there is some environments, what about more like realistic or less realistic thing more than environment. Like one environment is very realistic wafare where you have to play in little squad and cover your teammates and do some cool stuff like that.

On the other hand you have the Warsow envi-like or unreal like (I never play unreal (shame on me) so that's why i said Warsow fisrt) where you have jump pads, first to 150 kills in free-for-all, sci-fi guns and all this other cool stuff.

That would be wonderful because no game i know has never made the two in only one game. And also, in every envis, skills. A little bit like the perks in Call of Duty, but more like an RPG you have a character and you decide what skills you want to «train» more. Or a class system (not like CoD this time) like team fortress or Wolfeinstein: Ennemy Territory where there is the medic, the soldier, the bomber, etc. Imagine the other one.

Voilà.

lol never thought of that. I always thought of the same gameplay in every environment, so it's just another area. But makes sense since the TM enviros have also different cars. That'd be awesome!

Agree 100% with both points in this post. If Nadeo provides us with the tools to choose between realistic and science-fiction/fantasy gameplay and settings, then the only limit is the imagination of this community, which is not much of a limit. :)

Also, unlockable gameplay (e.g. perks, weapons, abilities) has become pretty common in this genre (CoD being the most-obvious example), and this sort of thing tends to keep people playing who might otherwise get pulled away, and adds a lot of depth and complexity to the game.
