Re: Beta 2 feedback topic
I'd just let the cuts unfixed, most of them are fun

Re: Beta 2 feedback topic
Cuts destroy competitive tracks. I hate finding tracks with cuts on my server. I always remove them. They provide an unfair advantage to those who know the cut and consistently execute it, leaving others to finish via the normal route and always lose.
I would include the Nadeo campaign tracks as competitive tracks, since people hunt them and try to get the best SP in the Solo ladder. Having cuts in campaign tracks may be historically consistent with past campaigns, but I still find it unacceptable and distasteful.
I won't deny it though. Cuts are fun to drive.
Or more precisely, they're really fun to find and then share your replay with the author on MX. But that's more of a not-so-subtle way to show the author that they need to work harder at their track design.
Of course some cuts are so creative that the author would never have dreamed that the driver would have done it that way.
For instance, I doubt some early Stadium authors were unaware that you could bump the car up and finish on the underside of the road finish block, which is useful to cut some Stadium tracks. I certainly was unaware (at first) that you could squeeze the car out the side of the GP CPs in Canyon, which is a common way to cut tracks.

Re: Beta 2 feedback topic
To be honest only B12 really bothers me.
The other cuts are fine/fun to do.

Re: Beta 2 feedback topic
yeah, since there is no puzzle anymore, cuts are the only reminiscence
I wouldn't really say cuts are bad. Either they happened by accident, or they were done intentionally.
Basically the hexamodding is a series of "valid" cuts, right?
If you are running on a server, you can follow those who take the cuts and perhaps still beat them

I haven't actually seen any of the cuts.
So I'm just speaking generally.

Re: Beta 2 feedback topic
Yeah, in general, cuts aren't a very friendly thing to new players.
I'll try to be extra careful about this on the upcoming campaigns.
