With the informations provided so far and the fact that the work on MP will go on, I see no reason to purchase this for PC apart from some instant fun. At this point I see no big danger for the competative side of TM moving to TMT.
It seems that you start to get the point about Turbo.

Turbo may not aimed for Maniaplanet players but more the general public who discover the Trackmania licence. It propose a specific experience with its own feature set which is different from Maniaplanet. That's why I expect more people doing the jump from Turbo to Maniaplanet that the opposite because Maniaplanet offers more possibility community wise and a plateform in evolution.
And as Hylis said, TMT PC will be the same version than the PS4/XBO version, with the same functionalities and same content, which is why you should see Turbo PC as a different proposition than a competitor to TM2 PC.

In my opinion TMT players should be able to play ManiaPlanet TM2 environments for free. One way I would see this work:

-Discount Canyon and Valley. I mean, Canyon was released in 2011 and still has the same price
-Maybe have a discount on TMT for the owners of TM2 environments. Maybe -25% for each environment owned in MP.
-Buy TM Turbo = Free Maniaplanet TM2 (Really, they already bought all the environments with tmt)
-Once TMT is popular release some major update for Maniaplanet TM2 to attract Turbo players.

Even so, in the end, TMT is going to die. The way I see and understand it honestly, Turbo is not meant to last. At least not on PC.

Just about that, the money earned with Turbo is to reimburse the development of Turbo, not to offer Maniaplanet. We'll try to give a bonus to Turbo players when they buy the game but we can't give away all TM2.

Then, by the time ManiaPlanet 4.0 comes out (in 2016 right?), TrackMania 2 Environments will have to be updated to be better (or at least the same level) than they are in TM Turbo. And also MP will need to have a nice and clean interface which will be easy to understand for new players.

I mean, let's say I am a TM Turbo player and didn't hear of Maniaplanet until now:

Why would I move to Maniaplanet? In TM Turbo I have those 4 environments too, and here I also have a lot more blocks than there currently are in Maniaplanet TM2, like the helicopter start block and the cool signs, which aren't present in the MP TM2. Also a really fancy HUD, fire coming out of stadium car boosters, oh and the cars look cooler.

Ok Turbo is a standalone , and Nadeo need to do somthing to be able to live and continue .
Lagoon will be disponible for maniaplanet in 2016 (right ?i hope not in december :p even if i m going to buy Turbo :D )
The problem on turbo is Stadium , Valley , Canyon , for me it is just a maj of existing version so will they be update when lagoon will be up or we need to have buy trackmania Turbo ?
The arcade look of the menu , interface is so cool --->in Maniaplanet 4 or not ??? (please do :3 )
