sorry sehaf, some players where informed during the alpha I think and I never explained again the laser way to work

There are 3 dots in the crosshair. If one of the three dots is out of the target, the laser will fire beside the target. So, there is a limitation of the distance. under this distance, it is still difficult to touch until the target is a little bigger.

It is done for many reasons. First, it reduces the need of playing at 2560x1440 to increase the chances to see/hit the opponent. After, it increases a lot the need of zoom platform. And finally, it makes high distance laser much more difficult when you get closer to the limit of the three dots, and make for great moves. It also increase the skill to judge about the distance and the tactic/risk decision to fire according to the reading of it.

Does the disappearance of the overlay is a bug due to the lack of update servers or is it intended by the devs ? I mean the players life bars on the sides of the screen, in red and blue. I find no explanation for this ...

I don't consider it a problem. I think that's even somewhat realistic, since there is no 100% accurate weapon.

I just released 1.2b : it's a minor update including only server-side script bugfixes.

Siege:
+ Fixed: Sometimes a pole was skipped (double capture)
+ Show the number of Laser, Nucleus and Rocket in your team during the weapon selection sequence

Royal:
+ Automatically activate the pole after 90 seconds (can be edited in the settings)
+ Use correct sounds for messages
+ Show the name of the winner at the end of the map, even if he's offline or in spectator

Joust:
+ Fixed the server script error when a player leaves the game

Whats with Trackmania? the local multiplayer is't working since maniaplanet beta :( please fix this! :twisted: :evil:

Local multiplayer is disabled in the Maniaplanet Beta until they re-implemented/fixed the LAN feature to the new dedicated servers
