Ofcourse I agree on the sharing thing but if these sites (carpark and mania-x) keep giving away everything for free the "planets" will still have no function or is this the wrong conclusion?

It depends on people, if they give their creations on such a site or don't.

Carpark (i don't know for tm-x) offer the possiblity to the creators to "sell" their creations on Carpark, but it's more like a donation system.

People do what they want, but i don't want a capitalist world in maniaplanet, where only rich people can drive a ferrari...

All this game is about sharing and i'll make everything to share everything with everyone !

Agreed. I think NADEO sees it that way too. I wonder if we'll see similar action to what we've already seen with TrackMania United Forever; where most will use the sites we're all already familiar with, but if they want to make some "planets" on a new release for a little while, they'll share in-game, utilizing the in-game news to draw the attention (remember Trump Card II by Crusard?) ... then after a while still move it to TMX.

It seems everything always ended up at TMX/Carpark even if it didn't show up there initially, because they're the known standard places to go.

Thanks for all the hard work and dedication that goes into these sites. The community is a huge part of what makes this series so epic.

It's like retail/Amazon. Release it for coppers-only at start, then, as time goes on, put it on TMX/TMCarpark for donations. Cuz if there's a track, skin, or car I really like, even if the author doesn't have donations on their page, I'll still give them props for it and donate coppers to their login.

Coppers have also been used for setting solo records and purchasing a certain level of dedicated server on the ladder.

So even if the sharing sites stick around (which I hope they will), the planets will have uses I'm sure.
