That was one point why we have chosen to postpone the meeting of the 1st June.
We aren't sure if the lynx clan will provide us their server. Consequently, we are still looking for a generous guy who is able to provide us a server for some meetings in future!

I cannot create all the maps by my own, and I am sure that there are great map-builders across the world too

As chevron said, the meeting was postponed. The reason is, that some people in my ''crew'' are still working on some things that have to be done.

Is this actually going to happen? I'd be interested (in playing - I'm not much of a mapper), but the idea seems to be dying from an outsider's point of view...

No, definitely not!
Currently, we are still working on great & big stuff that have to be ready!
Actually, I am really happy that we are still waiting until everythin' is ready, because the effect of the project will be even more powerful!
So, yes it is going to happen. In some days/weeks will be an announcement and everything will start then!
Pls be patient!

And I am proud too that there are some people who are interested in my project

Great trailer and skin I'll check the server out for sure. I'd check it out now if it wasn't so late already..

Two suggestions, though. I'd put the server name to a more obvious part of the main post, I had trouble finding it at first. You could even link it with that maniaplanet:// protocol thing. (Don't ask me how it works though, I have no idea ) Secondly, you might want to specify some times of the week (e.g. 8 pm on Wednesdays) when people should come and play regularly. It might not be needed, but I think it would do good. (People rarely join servers with 0-1 people in them unless they have an explicit reason to do so at that moment.)
