Thanks for your answer, I did not expect you to work today ;)

I just have tried... the F3 car skin has some soundfiles which have no sound inside in fact, mostly the *body.wav sounds.
Then I have deleted the soundless *body.wav files copied the files which actually contain sound (all the files *_exhaust.wav are good) to *body.wav.
And I can hear sound again in Stadium!

 So it seems in Stadium the *body sounds are always taken instead of the others?

I have tried with a different car, same there: body sounds in the ZIP are "empty", after copying the sound is back

Edit:

Thank you for the information. Much appreciated.

So seemingly where a model/skin has no *body.wav or *body.ogg files they should be created from exhaust files in a similar way? As an example the StadiumCar 2.0c model I had problems with only has a couple of exhaust files present.

Also, thanks for the F3 example, I have created a skin for that too so will need to fix it.

When comparing the sound folders, it appears the Stadium original sounds are always a triplet of sounds for each RPM step (except the lowest RPM, there is only throttle_engine):
throttle_body
throttle_engine
throttle_exhaust

Custom skins made for Canyon also have release_body and release_exhaust sounds.
GabrielM wrote:You can create many loops and fill in their filename what's the loop about :
loop_("xxxxx")Rpm_("throttle" or "release")_("engine", "exhaust" or "body")
"body" is supposed to be the engine sound inside the car, right now in Stadium, it's used for the engine "bass" sound, so i guess it will not be working perfectly as a "body engine sound".
Is there any additional rule we don't know yet? A combination of names that has to be there for a specific RPM?

I've tested the stadium 2.0b. It sounds fine in Canyon but I can hardly hear it in stadium.

Maybe we shouldn't jump to conclusions and start changing/updating all our stuff before we exactly know what's going to happen after the next update. :?

Sometimes I'm really missing a  smiley

No one told that we need to change all the stuff  And I also warn to do so unless we have the answer or a bugfix ;)
We are only trying to find out, that's all, so there is definitely no need for thumbs down here. :P

The thumbsdown is for the issue. Not for this post.

My point exactly. I didn't bother to test enough but from the look of things written in this forum, last update broke more then it fixed.

I think it's more like one step back, two steps forward. There was a lot of great stuff in this update, like the new start, new editor icons, and a ton of awesome ShootMania stuff. There's still some issues with Stadium, but hey... that's what beta is for. I'm just glad that a lot of this stuff is surfacing during the beta and it can hopefully get fixed before (or at) release.

I've had this sound bug with custom cars in Stadium too. Hopefully it can get fixed, as I didn't have it before the latest update, and I'd hate to think that all custom cars need to be updated.

i have copy created a folder "engine" in my skin file "car.zip" and i can have what ever sound i want
If you dont have a car.zip file just save your car skin in the painter...
all those files are in the mapp "engine" so make/find your own sounds ^^
Engine/*.*

Code: Select all

loop_10000Rpm_throttle_engine.wav
:roflol:
Import the files >> No problem
Driving on dirt maps ,the sound of the new engine is so low in volume
The other surround tunes from drift , brakes , are so high that the cover the engine sound
i used 4 engine sound from 4 cars in canyon same result to low in volume
