I can, and I did.

Of course Canyon isn't a replacement for any specific United environment. But the community saw it as the new TM. So we all jumped over to it initially. So in that sense I'm comparing it to TMNF/TM2S.

And my point about the resiliency of the community was really at the heart of why I brought it up. Once the new thing wears off, the community will once again find some balance. People will figure out where they want to be and what they want to do. Just give people some time.

If you ask me Stadium could use some kind of refresh. They need to find the way to build on it(maybe just design could do), not to expect all from the community.

Another problem is community want to stick to the same old, and fail to realize that game cant move forward like this.
Any new track looks familiar, new transition, jump, design that bring some diversity, are too hard or illogical.
That is just my view, have in mind i have played this game from its start.

I do feel sorry for the newcomers online, i guess they will end up playing on the lol server or ragequt. When i started tracks was not so complex, and hard, it was easy for me to adapt slowly and learn to drive as community continued to develop.

About the price: i dont mind paying for it, those who dont want i do understand since they dont see anything new in stadium(there is a lot new that maniaplanet brings to the table, but it is not visible, or not finished), so they dont want to pay for same thing they have for free, or they just cant pay. And all those comments about paying model are not yet valid, they are just guess, we dont know yet for sure what will it be.

On the other hand, there is not other game developer that can be compared to the Nadeo(price/quality/quantity), so having Nadeo around is great thing. And we need to know they are not some advanced alien race, they are just human like we are, and they do make mistakes.

But those comments and topics with rants and no single solution offered i do not approve, either offer some solution or go back in to the troll hole.

Why do people NEED 'free' all the time??? ... If you like it then buy the game and support Nadeo or don't whinge and whine (it hasn't cost you anything!) Once you've bought it there no more to pay. If you don't like the game then don't buy it. Simples

I do agree with this I have played Stadium and so far it feels a lot like the old stadium. I would like to see them refresh stadium more so then they have. How they would do that I have no idea. However I do agree with Maxi031.
Also Firstdriver I agree totally. One person I talked to over at steam was insulted that they were charging for this game and were not offering it free or making DLC content for the older games. My response was that if you want them to continue making games you need to support them by buying the games that they release. The programmers need to be paid somehow.

That's kinda like the idea NADEO has about Stadium. They want it to have the same feel/gameplay as TMNF has.

They are currently making new blocks, which will be available at the release of Stadium.

Interesting post and discussion.

I do feel Nadeo could have handled this a bit differently. i feel the "open beta" was prematurely released. Atm there are too many open issues for the game to be enjoyed by a lot of players.

As this is an open beta, ofc these are issues that "hopefully" will be resolved, the challenge for Nadeo will be the Communication and the info they provide along the way.

I also see a risk with the focus on ManiaPlanet as a whole or as one "single" game containing several titles/games. Not all will have or be interested in all titles and these should not be "pressured" onto them as this will only cause negativity.

But for the time beeing i am curiously awaiting further improvements making the game playable and enjoyable :pil

Such great simplicity.. .. a bit difficult for some to understand tho.. ;)

A truly gr8 statement..

Totally agree here. Stadium is 'basically' identical and i'm sure many would prefer an upgrade after sooooo many years..

Still nothing from Nadeo, so typical ...
Of coarse this will be replied too by the Nadeo fanboyz club who will sing nadeo's praises even if nadeo took a dump on their heads ...
Of course^^

Hylis himself said they are working on removing useless air-occupation by some blocks.
Hylis himself also said blockmixing is super cool but not if everything is going to be flashy and buggy.
In other words, IT'S ON THEIR LIST.

Keep up the good work destroying Stadium.
Everything/action that brings down or destroys stadium is a BIG FAT PLUS ONE! If Nadeo didn't spend time on stadium, we would have had a bugfree Canyon and we'd all be driving Valley now.
Not being a big fan of Stadium but having to oblige the people who constantly demanded that stadium be brought into TM2 is to me very disgruntling as I am eagerly awaiting 'Valley' (a whole new experience.. ) and then I wouldn't have to read all the whiners 'n cheapskates comments in this forum. A mere 10 bucks..euros or 320 thai baht is a mere pitance to pay for a game that gives countless hours of enjoyment.Get real people ... its 2013 ffs.

There are those like myself that have long awaited for Valley (and also luv Canyon) but only to be postponed by the 'Stadium' folk but then take a look at some of the "garbage' servers atm with there pathetic LOL OR MINI tracks. Isn't this supposed to be an F1 car ???? Soooo many years of stadium and countless tens of thousands of good tracks and yet the admins of these servers have such a narrow mind is many cases. Yes I know .. its hard to please everyone.. :roflol:

@TMarc . .. man you really get some crap in being a Mod but hey ... I think you do a great job within the forums .. and thats for free.. damn you da man.. Good work and keep it up ..

That's not what stadiumers want. They want everything to be the same but yet a whole new game.

killaprodtm wrote: People like you in the forums destroyed several Canyon Tournaments on the net for example; TM² Stadium is in ESWC, Canyon not. Are you happy? Canyon is very popular and there are very much teams who would love to compete in an official tournament. But the heads of ESWC decided over the heads of the community, excluding Canyon out of the ESWC. A shock for many people. But you have your holy stadium in it.
I am a so-called "stadiumer". I jumped on Canyon once it was released, didn't like it so i Went back to TMUF. Valley does not interest me, nor does shootmania or questmania.

Does this mean i want these, for me uninteresting titles, dead and buried? Absolutely not, i wish them all the best and as many players as possible as that will increase the oppertunity for Nadeo to stay alive as a developer and be able to develop/improve the title I am interested in.

Does this mean i feel have the right to bash "fans" of these, for me uninteresting, titles just because they "critizise" or in their way express their thoughts and/or feelings about the game? Absolutely not! Why should i? As i don't actively play those titles i don't really have the insight or interest to know if they are wrong or right.

It amazes me how players from other titles bashes stadium-players for this and that, mainly beacuse of the fact that they are "stadium-players" and without actually having an interest in their issues and/or the title.

Stadium is undeniably the biggest Commercial success of Nadeo. A stadium with a huge, popular and massive playerbase will undeniably also have a positive effect on other titles as well.

I really hope you realize this and if you guys really mean that stadium is of no interest to you, leave the stadium-issues/discussions alone as why should you bother when you don't care?

This fact alone, as i see it, just strenghtens the need for a more seperated forum.
eyebo wrote: My point is, the community is extremely resilient. People will find a way. And people will eventually come together, even if it takes a little time for an adjustment to happen.
Let's hope so. It certainly does not look promising at all. As a "stadiumer" these kind of comments above makes me want to go back to TMUF and just leave this whole Maniaplanet-idea behind. it is not pleasent right now beeing here.

I'm very sorry to say but for me it's the other way arround. It's a lot of stadium people who bash everything that's not stadium. Not everyone so I'm sorry I might have hurt your feelings.

There's always been two divissions. United players and stadium players. United players, always friendly and happy to help you with your problems. stadium players, always super cool, if the not the coolest of them all, are there other environments then stadium>?

I'm sorry I think like this but that's just the taste I have after being in the community for all these years.
