But a point. The "holes" in the font could have been achieved with a overlay, mask, dissolve blending layer etc...
There are tons of ways to do the effect and not be repetitive
I suggest they intend to give us the font with the game or on a forum for us to use. And they decided to keep it simple and uniform. They have been generous with us with this game in the past.

And what about the ingame font that's the ultra-banal Arial?
