Cycling through the 3D modes caused a crash (just after left/right and right/left). Crashlog.
This should not happen, regardless the connected (or not connected) 3D devices ;)

jonthekiller wrote:I found it. You need to go to the Launcher, Configure, Advanced, Compatibility and activate "Advanced Stereoscopy". After that you will have more options ingame.
This is what I was missing. Thank you!
edit: Well the menu is there, but all the game does is crash when you toggle to Oculus mode like what was said above. :[

Works great for me including headtracking.
Many thanks for implementing this.
With DK2 this is going to be epic.

How did you get it working? What video card do you have? Are you using extended desktop mode or duplicate mode?

Will this be updated to work with the rift DK2 that starts shipping this month?

DK2 arrived

I've set it up, ran the example demos, downloaded some DK2 'experiences' (rollercoasters and such), its pretty awesome. In one demo i had a dinosaur walk around me and stand over my right shoulder, so that when I turned my head we were nose to nose... it was close enough (and real enough) to think you could put your hand (or head) in its mouth!!! I choose not to. ;)

There is a Virtual Desktop 'app' which uses the rift to make a giant desktop, you can vary the size and distance, the default is 500% the size of your normal desktop at 1meter away, its too big to use, you have look around it by moving your head, but you can play movies, which makes it like an IMAX experience. There is also a media viewer which does a similar thing for movies & pictures, but doesn't hijack your whole desktop...

So far I have not managed to get ManiaPlanet to work with DK2, from what I have read backwards compatibility with DK1 apps is not so good and many of them need updating to work correctly with DK2. I have downloaded some of the demos which were for DK1 and not got them to work either... The only working things for me are ones that specify they work on DK2.

There is no duplicate mode in DK2, the app must talk directly to the DK2 display driver, or as a backup there is extended desktop which is more of a pain to use. Most of what I got to work did something where you launched the app and it went automatically to the extended display. Its true what they say on the oculus page, this is not a consumer product yet.

I have tried it in a driving game, called LFS (Live For Speed)... it was quite exceptional, it places you in the car, and because this is Oculus, you really are in the car, you have a wheel, a windscreen, mirrors, a passenger seat... its much more a simulation style game though, wont be for me ^^ .... Even on auto gears I still manage to hit the wall on most laps of the one track which is free to try.

Anyway, I go off topic, has anyone successfully got ManiaPlanet and the DK2 working together, and if so, pls give some tips ;)

Or Nadeo, if you have tried DK2, maybe you can confirm the status so at least I can stop searching for a solution that can't be found ;)

I received too my DK2 and yes the game needs to have the new mode "Direct To Rift". I don't know if it's more difficult to implement it.

I make some tests with ManiaPlanet to find a bypass with Extended desktop but without success. Maybe it can work with Vorpx.

Hey Nadeo, is there any possibility/prospect of making MP work with the DK2, or are you waiting for the first consumer release of the rift ?

It will be amazing whenever it happens :thx:

I've tried selecting oculus from the graphics settings in the cog menu, with 3d glasses applied in the launcher, still no rift support as far as I can see.

looks like nadeo took this gift away from us!
