Did you try the new TM² title that allows nearly seemless title switching?
Did you try the ManiaPlanet Stadium RPG?
Other titles like Raid for Canyon or Valley?
There is so much more already!!!

ManiaPlanet itself is not yet finished, perhaps it will never be, because it gives much more possibilities to the community than TMU could ever do.

Agreed there is a artificial split between the two game generations, but this was like this with every other game as well.

And now wait for the people to discover the new demos, and play with them ;)

Lol, in one community I go to there's still a split between people who like the 1995/1996 games and people who like the 1999 game. :roflol:
In the Sonic fanbase lots of... organisms... are comparing a 1991 or 1992 game with a 2014 game.

So here, I don't think you guys really have that much to complain about. :P

Some of the plugins offer such essential features that I expected TM2 to support them natively.

I loved Nadeos previous work but nowadays, I just think they are Lazy.

The majority of players just want to PLAY.

Also, the dedicated server is an unfriendly mess and the track editor UI is also a complete mess, just LAZY.

Yes, you can keep it all elitist and the like but all it is doing is harming the game.

The facts are, Maniaplanet has been a giant steaming FLOP for those who just want to play the game.

Nadeo/Ubisoft wanted all the pie to themselves.

At launch, the Nadeo boss said that Steam did not fit into their plans.

Funny how that changed when sales were only to the core elite user base and they then go running to steam with this STUPID environment split which has helped NOBODY for which they then try to ham something together which kind of works but the facts are, it was broken from the start with their initial design choices.

If the game launched on Steam with unified environments, workshop support for skins, title packs, plugins and a better server, more titles would have been sold, FACT.

TMUF was brilliant, all you had to do was clone that and polish it (Not literally, you know what I mean).

What you did was get rid of all that was good tried to force this **** onto your playerbase.

Congrats.

League of Legends, Dota 2, Smite. Why are these titles so successful and constantly growing? The recipe for a successful multiplayer online game is not that hard to grasp if you just sit down for a minute and study the mentioned games. There is no sorcery to it. Clever and smart yet simple and straight forward strategies. Just look at all the willing users who invest several hundreds of dollars into upgrading some visual content that doesn't affect gameplay. They do it because the developers are smart and clever at captivating their users with continuous updates, fixes and improvements. Another vital aspect of these titles are the E-sport community. The developers are amazing at promoting the big organization and players in a way that all the others look up to them and want to play like them. They also have a very strong continuous connection with the elite to collect information on what to improve and change in the gameplay. It took Nadeo 4-5 years to get the slide-marks into spectator mode after feedback from the Trackmania community....

Let's say that TMNF was something similar to Dota2 and LoL. Suddenly, the developer decides to abandon their product pretty much, and start making a new genre. For some reason they think that the user base will jump on the new bandwagon and start playing their new genre just like that. Makes sense? No. Stick with your beloved product and continue innovate and improve it.

And I know... here I sit behind my computer writing like I know everything without actually knowing the difficulties of running a development team and what decisions to make. But based on statistics in maniaplanet and observations on how other multiplayer games succeed, I believe there should be a couple of bells ringing in Nadeo's headquarter.

That has been out for what now, 2 weeks? The point is that it came like 2.5 years too late... Yes, I have tried it. The problem is that there aren't enugh players. There are maybe 2-3 servers with players, and none during nighttime (cet).

Smigles, as always you're mixing up reality and your own personal wishes.

The title is not 2,5 years too late, because there was only Canyon then. No point to have a title-mixing title already then.
And it was not released just two weeks ago, but already 2 months ago. It was there even earlier for beta testers.
Please do not forget it was basically only available for those who have all three titles Canyon, Stadium and Valley.
That you did not have it before, perhaps you had only Canyon and perhaps Valley.
But all this information was already given end of April.
And now It is now more easily accessible since the release of the universal demo.

Perhaps it is just 1 year too late if we think it should have released with the apperance of Stadium and Valley.
Now if we don't count Stadium as a "full" TrackMania title, TM² title is still too early, since we are waiting for the actual third new TrackMania title ;)

And you can't blame Nadeo nor ManiaPlanet for not seeing others at night time, where most people normally are sleeping ;)

Besides this, if you like the game that much, why don't you tell others?
You can't expect others to join if the don't even know of it.
And we know the current "long term" strategy of Nadeo. Its advertisement is more done by word than by ads.
But if you don't tell others, don't help to increase the player base, please don't complain. ;)

Firstly, what do you mean by a) Stadium not counting as a full trackMania title and b) we are waiting for the third TrackMania title? If important features to do with Maniaplanet and the general functionality of the existing titles are being neglected in order to create a new environment then that is deeply disappointing, and in my eyes looks like either a money grab or a case of the devs ignoring many vocal members of the community.

Ok ok "only" 1 year too late. Still, as you guys are probably aware, most people dont wait for a year. ( And let's be honest, it's waaaaay more than a year since the first maniaplanet beta. We have been playing TM2 in some form for quite a few years now since the first canyon beta.)

Nighttime in europe = day in america and asia. In both these areas, there are nearly zero players. That's what I mean about night. TM is very much a european game.

And really? I need to tell others? You mean the last 10 years that my clan has made server scripts, hostet servers, got closed out of the canyon beta when we tried to develop server scripts for TM2, all that was not enugh? Now you want us to do the advertising aswell? When do we get our paycheck?

That's exactly what I mean with Nadeo has no idea how valuable their community was. To even have the cheek to ask that question. No wonder most of the community is gone by now. You are lucky you have a few diehard fans, otherwise maniaplanet would be completely empty by now.
