Re: What will change

Can't imagine being allowed to purchase environments with coppers/planets... Kind of would defeat the purpose of releasing the game with episodic content.
No, actually I really meant PF maps built in TM2Slig wrote:You mean actual PF maps ??? it won't be the same enviros than actuals TMUF ones, so none of existing maps will work on TM2 of course
PF tracks don't work in TMF on some servers because there is an option (to prevent macros) that slightly changes starting position each time you start a race.-DexM- wrote:I heard somewhere that the press forward tracks would not work anymore in TM2![]()
I'm just wondering:
1) if this is true
2) why they wouldn't work
Does anyone have any info about that?
I don't see why. TMU/TMF could be bought with coppers.nocturne wrote:Can't imagine being allowed to purchase environments with coppers/planets... Kind of would defeat the purpose of releasing the game with episodic content.
Exactly.Knutselmaaster wrote:PF tracks don't work in TMF on some servers because there is an option (to prevent macros) that slightly changes starting position each time you start a race.
As this protection seems quite effective i suppose it will be there for TM2 also.
If it will be intergrated in the server, not optional but always activated than PF won't be possible anymore.
I hope that it will be optional if it is going to be in TM2, so that the PF fenomena won't die, as it is something very special that i haven't seen in any other game yet.
Yes, turn it around. Have it actived by default. Turn it off by choice.Slig wrote:Exactly.
A possibility would be to have it not configured at server level, but being an option in the map creation, so only maps which need PF would activate it.
You're right, but there has to stay something from TMUF/TMU/TMO/TMS/TMSE/TMN/TMNF so we never forget that game.Bramble wrote:None of the 7 environments are in TM2. It's a sequel, not an update to TMN/UF.
So the answer is everything will change because it's an entirely different game. The other games will continue to be supported (hence the "Forever") in the names. If you want to continue playing any of the current 7 environments then you'll have to do so on the games we have now.
Furthermore, it took about 6 months for people to realise you could slide on Stadium. I played it before anyone knew about sliding and it was still a great game, hence I kept playing until people figured out slides. Sliding is infinitely slower on the other 6 environments anyway, so I don't see it to be a problem if there isn't a slide environment on the new game.
It's a new game, we want new techniques and challenges to master, not just the same old things we've been playing for years.
