Have you geared to our sound plugin from SMART or is it completely made from scratch?

I hope it is as great as the general SMART sound plugin and/or the SMART soundbox plugin.
I will have a deeper look into your plugin (not even installed or enabled it yet) and will extensively test it next days.

As we're in ManiaControl threads, SEM is a ManiaControl plugin.
So it won't work with SMART.

I've checked the source code of Sounds plugin and SoundBox plugin for SMART (from https://code.google.com/p/shootmania-smart/).
My plugin don't allow to play sounds by paying LP (good idea, i'll write it in TO DO list) but it probably does more stuff and is probably configurable more easily, by admins and players.

Yes I'm pretty sure he's aware that this is a ManiaControl plugin, as we're working on setting up INSOMNIA's SM servers again and using ManiaControl. Used to have SMART running on the server like 2 years ago though.

Yes, as Chris92 said, you misunderstood me ...
I just said using your plugin will bring up the good old "SMART-Feeling". Of course i know it is a MC plugin.

Sorry for the misunderstanding insomnia-yamyam.
i've never heard about SMART before you talk about it. So i can't tell you about the old good "SMART-Feeling" ^^

To code SEM, i'm done many copy/paste from other plugins to learn the language.
Now, i'm coding without any help, as it's more php than "ManiaScript".

I've update my 1st post with a lot of information. If anything if not clear or missing, just ask me.

SEM v1.04 released !

Changelog :
- Store user parameters (SOUNDS, MESSAGES, RANKING, MUSIC enabled/disabled) from the SEM Menu.
- Some sounds can be parametered to be played to no one, only the player who triggered the sound, team of this player or everybody.
- New SEM menu icon : (with white dots on left).
- More understandable icons : black means desactived and green means activated.
- No more "Playing music" message when no link is set.
- Using dynamical constants for KILL_*_LINK. No visible effect.
- Display "RANKING" title.
- Keep SEM menu opened.
- Some bug fixes.
- NB : Can't handle HEADSHOT, due to lake of datas from ManiaControl.
- More information on the 1st post of the thread.

no problem at all about the misunderstanding and that you've never heared about SMART-Controller.
SMART has been (in my eyes) the best and most comfortable SM-Controller ever and reached about 80% "market-share" in just 3 months. SMART was alive in 2012/2013. If you wanna "see" it, you may check https://code.google.com/p/shootmania-sm ... creenshots

More imporant for you would be the sound-plugins or sound-related plugins we've made.
If you want, you may check those two sound-related plugins:

Excellent ! Listen, i am already finished with the setup of our first new(old) server and last things i will implement are sounds. So i will be with you tomorrow, when i will hardly check your great plugin and will see if i can do everything i need to do with or i've done with SMART. I guess you already implentet a lot of stuff and will give you feedback and reports soon.

The sound plugin (or plugins) is/are the most important on our servers, so i will be your hardest and simultanously best tester, if you want me to be

But before i will start testing your plugin and have a deeper look, i have two questions:
- Does your plugin have a preload routine so all used and configed sound files will be preloaded into cache if the user is joing the server the first time? ... It's very annoying if all players hear the sounds first time when it is "fired" the second time, because on the first "playing" it just has been loaded and not played. Know what i mean?
- I was very involved into SMART development and escpecially in all plugins. So would you implement features i may miss after i have checked your plugin? (Granted that there is any feature missing)

Thx for the update !
But there is a bug with the latest version of SEM, Maniacontrol is shutting down indefinitely.
To re-use Maniacontrol I had to stop the server and go remove the "Lumpik" folder in the plugins.
I tested 3 times and still the same thing.

... I think installing and testing SEM today just has settled
Unless Lumpik will fix it asap.

preload routine :
My plugin don't use this. As you said, each player have to download the sound the 1st time it should be played to be able to hear it on the 2nd time.
I don't know if preload is possible with ManiaControl and i don't know what is the most annoying between :
- preload all sounds + music : can be very heavy (max 43 sounds without counting music), will generate lags during a while
- don't hear sound the 1st time it should be played
I think I prefer the 2nd option, as it's not so annoying imo and coding a preload would probably add me complexe work
But if many players says they would prefer to preload them, i'll try to do this.

Of course you can ask me new features ! My wish is to have the best Sounds plugin ever in ShootMania

i've tested this morning to install SEM v1.03 into a server who didn't have SEM, then upgrade it to v1.04 : no problem.
There's a bug with v1.00 : i was using a file with a different name from other versions... so if you upgrade from v1.00 to upper, ManiaControl would crash, as it would try to use the SEM plugin twice (2 files instead of only one). To fix it, just remove the SoundEventsManager_v1.0.php from the plugin directory and restart ManiaControl.
But your problem seems to be different. Could you post here the errors generated in your lastest maniacontrol.log please ?
