I just checked my config for the gyro. And it's still empty.
The configuration:

Today there is a new Steam client update, with the following change regarding non-steam games:
Steam wrote:Added better support for non-Steam games and applications that cannot use the Steam Overlay such as browsers, command line tools, emulators, etc.. While these applications won’t currently support some functions such as touchmenus, xinput, and controller HUD functionality, these applications will now be better detected and use their Non-Steam Game configuration when in focus.
Not sure if this will solve the issues with Maniaplanet, but who knows?

Don't think so, because it's a Steam-game itself and the overlay works already, so *shrug*

Got still crashes yesterday.
But I know more about it. When you play map with a mod and the download is completed. It will be applied at next delete. As soon as you delete (give up) it will crash with the chance of 95%. After reconnecting exactly the same. It will even crash after 5 seconds on the server...
The gyro is off for me.

It is very odd that this is related to the Steam Controller apparently

Ye, it could also be the controller overlay but it doesn't appear to happen when another controller is used with it for some reason..
So it seems like its a combination with the steam controller and the overlay. But not sure, it needs some investigation and debugging.

The crash might just as well be in SteamGameOverlay.dll, which of course makes it Valve's job to fix. I tried attaching a debugger but whenever I did that it wouldn't crash at all, stupid
heisenbug.
Toffe, perhaps try using
Procdump and report back with any generated mdmp file. Do this in command prompt while the game is running:
Code: Select all
procdump -accepteula -e Maniaplanet

I can try that, will it contain private information (memory contents)? I think its a yes right?
Btw: I will also try to run steam overlay + game + steam controller on another pc too, maybe it's also related to some other stuff. you never know...

It willl be a minidump, meaning that the system will only include the necessary information (usually only the stack memory). But yeah the possibility is there to have it contain private information. If you want, you could even check the mdmp file yourself before you post (or PM) the file. If you have any version of Visual Studio installed, you can open the file in there and observe the stack on the several threads. (Very limited view though, considering you don't have any debug symbols, you might only be able to see in which module it has crashed. Nadeo devs should have a lot better insight into the mdmp though.)

I like dat Heisenbug
User: It doesn't work!
Support: Please be more precise. What doesn't work?
User: Yeah, here, this! See the annoying bug on with the error popup?
Support: Please send us the complete project and a description of what you are doing.
User: why do I need to show what is obvious!? Here is a screenshot, there is a bug!
(mostly Indian) Tool team: We tried to reach you by phone, but we could not contact you. [they were calling very early, or during our lunch time]
We are very sorry sir, we are not able to reproduce the problem [different hardware, they do not use the tool like the users do, they don't take the time to try several times]. Ticket closed.
User: why am I reporting anything!? grrrr
