Nice to have some news, and good news too!
Hylis wrote:making a selection, copying it or saving it, moving it
Is a really welcome feature that we all asked for, great to know that it will be implemented!
Hylis wrote:making the link between a map and a mode
If i understand that well, we will have no more problems with multilap tracks on TA servers that have their recs for 1 round only, as the servers will be able to recognize their "Laps Mode"?
Hylis wrote:making modes with script
Very curious what that brings us.....
Hylis wrote:included light information in map files in order to guarantee each player to have it
That will reduce loading times on tracks played for the first time, as the client won't be charged with the calculation?
For sure it will eliminate the possibility of "shadow bugs".
I have, on some TM tracks, a graphic bug that was caused by an error my pc generated calculating the shadows when i played the track for the first time.
If the light/shadow info is already in the tracks gbx, these kind of errors won't be happening anymore.

More diversity, that is very nice!

Hylis wrote:We are making good use of the time we have but I would like to apologize of the dates I gave. I did it really thinking that we were going to reach it, but there are too many things to do that it gets more and more difficult to predict.

As a little update:
Olivier is working on the track editor (making a selection, copying it or saving it, moving it)
Sylvain is working on making the link between a map and a mode (will go through a simple word in the map file)
Xavier is working on making modes with script
Jseb just included light information in map files in order to guarantee each player to have it
Stephen, Massimo and Bertrand are working on a new road, wall ride, ramps and tunnels at the moment

and I should go back to work!
Florent
That sounds great!
Although I doubt your team consists of 8 people? That's the core, right? :D

Great news :) Especially the updates about the track-editor!
Hylis wrote: Xavier is working on making modes with script
He said something like that before. I think it means that you can create game-modes (like team, ctf,..) yourselfe by using scripts.

Nope^^ At least they're a few more!

you are right, but I prefer to avoid speaking of other's job at the moment, because if I say that Alinoa is making tracks to help improve the gameplay, test it with external players and make lan inside the team, then you can feel that you could also play and wish it to be release sooner than we can do. So I prefer to avoid saying it.

Fix is working on rendering quality that could improve again the graphics and we have just decided to split the new effects into two level of quality so it could work on lower end machines but also be more impressive on higher ones.

And some other innnovations are being done by other people, but I prefer to talk of it later because there is either too much work still to be done, either I prefer to keep a little the surprise. But then, if I say this, you can be disapointed. So I prefer to avoid saying it as well.

I hope maniaplanet to be quite simple. So there is little to announce anyway. But we want it strong enough to welcome many players and for long!

It's pretty awesome, if you avoid to speak about something. Because if we don't know anything, we won't expect anything.
In this way please try to avoid to speak about things as you did before :D

Well.. i saw the credits of TMU and there were 18 people there :| So.. i guess the team have 18 people. But they do better and more creative things that teams with minimum 100 people ;)

I guess many people want a Beta that works like the Full Version and this kind of state you can test right now would disappoint them anyways^^

However *put my hands up for testing pre-alpha versions*. :D

Agree with Kaldra! :D I've been with you Nadeo 100% and anything I can do to help move the game or the community along I would love to do. And I'm sure every other member here feels the same way. :)
