I personally have stopped making PF maps after MP4 because it seems every big update breaks them again.
I've got a folder full of PF maps and none of them work anymore.
PF maps are a perfect example of Chaos Theory (The Butterfly Effect) where even the smallest little change can alter the outcome in a big way.
Just before MP4 released I had finished a 16 minute PF! My longest one ever. But, before I could release it MP4 changed block geometries and killed it.
The only solution I've found that really works is: Make a PF map, record and save a replay on it, and make that into a video.
Or, wait until Trackmania 2 is final and will no longer be updated. ;)

^^ I concur. ^^ ... This is the least frustrating solution.

Hi all,
Unfortunately, even if we try to keep the simulation code unchanged while we improve our engine,
we can't keep the exact data and code unchanged.
Any little difference (rounding, or data processed in another order) can break "press forwards",
because of the chaotic nature of the simulation.
Since last year, many changes were made in the physics engine, which you'll probably see in the future,
and that's why PFs are broken.
We'll try to better track the changes that brake PFs in the future, and avoir breaks as much as possible..
thanks !

Thanks Damien,
I think it should just be expected that if we make a PF map it will very likely become unplayable at some point. Like I mention above, save a replay or video. I still think they are fun to make and watch.

+1. Personally I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't expect press forward maps to work forever when the game progresses in its development and gets better and better over time. Videos & replays are a must!
