Back on-topic--is it still possible to import TMUF cars at all? even if it's a screwy model that's glitchy and doesn't have damage, lights, or anything else?

Apparently not

That's just wrong....
Most of devs (nadeo and script makers), and most of others who have some tech knowledge to reply, don't speak/write english natively, and so mostly don't know idiomatic shortcuts...
They come on the english forum because it's the best place to have most players able to read and understand, whatever country they are from. If, for example, some 'international' forum is added for those who are not english, and so if all of the concerned people go there and not here, then i'm pretty sure that you won't get many replies on this forum, and you won't be really happy...

again

for old model support, if it has no damaged model, no loose parts,
there are so many realy nice models from carpark, it really would been a waste to dont support them.

The names of the car parts changed now so it's logical that old models don't work. Also, theres more parts.

The thing that baffles me is that we could import the old TM1 cars before the beta 4 update by packing them. I know there was no damage available but that was a small price to pay. Oh well, who knows what the future holds. Nice to see more car models coming onto ManiaPark tho

But i think there are some problems with the car models that caused crashes,
thats why nadeo desided to stop allow using them...
Instead of fixing the problem!!!
When did Nadeo stop being
user oriented and decide they know better than their own customers?
- "We want to change XYZ about cars even though they looked fine before, now you can't use your old cars trololol".
"We want reflections from signs, now you can't use animated signs trololol".
"Trust us, you don't want animated avatars trololol".
"We like it when loops are impossible to drive, that makes them fun, sorry if you can't use them in any non-LOL track trololol".
"Nobody likes narrow roads, but we're going ahead with them anyway and cram them into the campaign until you will like them trololol".
I like TM2 and its drift handling, but this game is selling poorly and even now TMNF has 3 times as many tracks uploaded daily on TMX and about 10 times as many online servers. There is a reason for that, and the reason is
TM2 offers 0 new content and instead cuts content.
The lack of old cars just makes me rage because
WHY SHOULD THE COMMUNITY HAVE TO WASTE MONTHS REMAKING EVERY OLD CAR INSTEAD OF ADDING NEW CARS WHEN IT'S THE SAME GAME ANYWAY?? Who is going to want to make a new Mustang when we already had/have a perfectly good Mustang until Nadeo arbitrarily decided to make it not work in order to save themselves a little bit of effort? OMG.

no we don't
it's a good thing to start a new adventure with a blank page and not full of 70% compatible cars.
