Okay, now this is a really dumb question, but on the last skin on the first page--how do you get the chrome? Is it just white with full alpha? Because I've tried that...and it doesn't work for me. Maybe it's just cuz I have my settings turned down...but if I am doing something wrong, I'd like to know about it. Thanks in advance.

No question is dumb, only some of the answers.
Back to the question; u mean the skin in the pic below?: because this is the only skin on the first page thats chromed, but was not the last one on the first page. if this is the skin u referred to, know that the alpha was more complicated.
But the basic alpha works like this:
layer color----> black alpha = matt(no refs - opaque).
layer color---> white alpha = chrome(shiny as hell).
So to obtain a nice chrome effect, u have to try different settings; like a light gray(almost white) with a almost white(or white) apha, sure the chrome can be applied to other colors too(not only white, and works almost the same) but chrome on most colors(minus white) doesnt look so realistic. hope this helps.
