Calm down, you havent seen what the result of Maniaplanet will be like, yet :)
At the moment its just in a "working state" because only canyon is released. The concept of maniaplanet is to make a huge online experience with various of games. One round racing at canyon, the next round zapping people in storm.
I have positive expectations about this big project and its very difficult to finish it all at once because Nadeo is so small.
Ubisoft's marketing is a lot better than the old one they had (also because sprint is an awesome filmmaker).

Please dont be so negative about the concept, just be patient. I know its hard, because i also want some :twisted:ing news, but I'll manage

Well said SiH. It seems patience is in short supply around TM these days. It's too bad really. I look forward to seeing how this project (ManiaPlanet) looks when it's all finished.

Even in its current state, Canyon is already a far better game than any others I own.

About the new skin (the topic)... it's really funny. And a great, but short, little video for it. Isn't the rabbids like a mascot for Ubisoft? It only makes sense to see them make an appearance in TM. They're really funny, and a bit crazy... much like TM. Fits perfectly.

And for those worried that Nadeo is working on car skins instead of fixing all the bugs... bear in mind that the people who skin are most likely not the same folks who are fixing the bugs. Not everyone does everything. So when you see projects like this finished, there are indubitably other team members still hard at work at the other aspects of the game. For all we know, this is probably the product of Nadeo Live anyway, not Nadeo. A separate team altogether.

Or maybe he just really likes the game? Like you said:

Yes, I quoted you twice. Why? Because I can.

Haha owned!

But yeah, I don't see any problem with this video being made... it also got over 15k hits (which I guess some of which might not have been current TM2 players) so you never know, it might just be a 'tipping point' for people ^^

Did I ever say people couldn't have their own opinion? But when did having an opinion become synonymous with being negative? It seems all people do is post their gripes.

And if you post something positive you become a promoter of the game? Perhaps. I don't really see that as a bad thing.

You CAN have a positive opinion of something you know!

If my honest opinion of the game challenges the opinion of other users, so be it. This is a forum. It's for such discussions. As long as everyone remains respectful, I don't see the problem.

I'm sorry if my eternal optimism is annoying to some.

I'm not paid by Nadeo.

I just really love TM; not just the concept and execution of previous iterations of the game... but I love Canyon. I love the tracks, the scenery, the aesthetics of the lighting from the bloom and shadows to the lens flares and colored light blocks, and most importantly... I absolutely love to drive it. It brings me immense pleasure to nail a perfect run on a track, or feel the flow through some particularly well made corners.

I can't help the way I feel about Canyon any more than other people can't help that they might hate the game or wish they had a better computer to play it. But if only the haters posted around the forums, what a dismal place it would be. So I choose to post my feeling about the game, even if they seem too positive for some people to comprehend.

I'm optimistic about Nadeo because I've always seen them as a company who communicates with their users and actually implements changes based on feedback given by the community. It may not come on the timetable hoped for by the users, but it does happen.

Sorry for going a bit offtopic. But I had to reply.

---

Back to the topic though...

This car will be really funny for videos and such, but the car is much smaller than the collision box... so I'm not sure I would ever race it in serious matches. :?

I knew some people who drove really crazy cars in TM1 though, like a guy who drove a big beach ball, a guy who drove a cow on a skateboard, and someone else who drove a toilet. So I guess this car will suit the fancy of some users quite well. ;)

People complain that Nadeo shows nothing.

People still complain when they show something.

C'mon people, you are complaining like you can do a better job of making games than they can. I am sure they are aware of everything and are trying to fix things up for everyone as well as bring new content. Rome wasn't built in a day and I sure as hell know if it was built in a day, people would have patiently waited for it to be better.

Also, while people may hate game developers for doing videos and things unrelated to updates, it raises awareness of the game. That is like complaining about a company announcing a game at E3.

Like, why the hell are they promoting their game in LA for? They should be in their office working on the game, not wasting time showing the game to people! Grr!
