I have played and purchased every version of Trackmania so far and loved them but, if they went to Steam I assure you I would Never buy any future titles from them.

Ridge Racers and TrackMania is a common genre of games (Arcade Race).
The difference is in the form of the race.
How Hylis said, Ridge Racers is a racing game - with fight.
TrackMania is the purest form of racing - with no collisions, just testing the skills of the pilot (like agility).
TrackMania has features that do not have Stunts Driving.

What is the advantage of Steam?
I ask this as a serious question because I've heard nothing but negative things about Steam and every game I have ever played that was on Steam was a pain in the ass to get working properly. This is the first place I've ever seen anyone say they wanted it.

Yep, someone forced me into steam to play a certain game, which worked fine tbh. There's a big BUT comming though because the other 2 games I downloaded from there didn't work at all, not even after some thorough support.

you're doing smth wrong then. I've read loads of people saying that steam is awesome, not buggy and so on. didn't have problems with it either.

I'm sure that must be the case but i can't remember the last time something went wrong with installing my legit games manualy ever since winXP.

I always prefer a manual install so I know where everything goes.

Ok, so some like it some do not. I still ask to those who do like it, Why? What is the advantage?

I actually bought a game and could not get it to work after a year of emails and online searches I gave up and decided I was simply out the 40 I spent on the game. This is the reason I say if TM goes to steam I will reluctantly stop buying titles from them. If I spend 40 or 50 on a game I expect to be able to play it or get some real help from the supporting company.
