ricko the problem is that it`s not possible to develop software like TM in an acceptable amount of time using machine language. Once you give the control to the compiler you don`t know what he`s doing with your code and to be sure that there are no bugs you would have to test everything in every possible way and that`s not possible (in large and complex programs).
Additionally TM runs on thousands of different hardware configurations which always can cause unexpected behaviour.

Of course it would be best to have software complete free of bugs but it`s not possible because it would take too much time and that is a very important factor. If the developement of TM took 10 years+ because they want to make it completely bug free they would loose most of their customers.

And one last thing: the developers are humans and humans always do mistakes. Again it`s a matter of time to find all mistakes and fix them but sadly our time is limited.

PS: I do not have any problems with the sound ingame. I can imagine it is not easy to find the bug if for some it`s working and for some it`s not ;)
Btw did you check your sound settings? The volume of the sounds got a lot lower with the update so you have to set your volume higher to get the same sound as before the update.

The engine cutting out is caused by having sound set to High quality in the launcher settings.
Change it to Normal quality and it should work again.

Obviously it's a bug that needs fixing, but for now it's a quick fix so you can get your engine sounds back.

Not sure if its a bug or plan :o but when you press enter to respawn back to CP in the new track blocks it drops you in the centre :? and doesnt realy work for some blocks as u cant get out the hole.
The blocks are realy bad to escape from in this idea, you have to just start again and not good in a big track, i suppose.

Split screen in Tm2 doesn't work after maniaplanet 2.0!
Please fix!
And while you're at it please add time attack mode to split screen :)

It's a bug and has been reported several times. Nadeo will fix it soon. Please be patient. :)

I got another Compuslatory update today. As it downloaded, there was a window talking about "Heroes mode, Female Skin, sound in vid for shooting". Am I to understand that the ShootMania game is already on my computer?, and I just need to buy a ticket to play? .... SOUNDS LIKE A HACKERS DREAM !! ......... oops ..

ShootMania isn't on your computer. If you were to get the beta (or buy the game later), ManiaPlanet would have to download the environment before you could play it.

I have a really stupid question for NADEO though. I've noticed that most references to ManiaPlanet around the site recently (and also in-game) have been spelled with a lower case "p" instead of upper case as in the past.

Why the change from "ManiaPlanet" to "Maniaplanet"?

Personally, I think "ManiaPlanet" looks better. But maybe it's just because I've been used to it for 2 years now.

Why the change in min light intensity and maybe color/contrast?(unsure what's changed)...it was said it should be back to MP1 values in this next update but it just got worst with the last update. What's the deal with this?, you change it to better suit shootmania maps maybe?
Light/color looked good in MP1, now in MP2 it's very bright and less color specially in dark areas.

I dont know if it is a bug or not, but i cannot load replay anymore, like before. Have to put every replay i will race against from MX to the replays/download folder and quit the game and start it again in order to select it from the ingame menu... Hope this can be fixed.....

it is a mistake we did while working on it that made some cases like that. we did not checked yours even if we worked many days on it ^^

it should be better in the next version, coming next week probably :thumbsup:
