OK. First of all Hi to everyone since this is my first post, recently i just read all of them but nvm.

Thx Nadeo for working on this awsome game and creating new possibilities for sure (talking not only about most hot topic which means the laser for defensive players in elite :P)

When it comes to my opinion on new patch, ive tried it for several hours but only on public servers amd i have to say definietly more pross than conss which u will see below, namely:

0. Definietly the best thing u have done, FPS much biger in my case now makes the game smoother and at the same time faster. THX A LOT
1. I like this feature, especially for attackers beeing rushed is a huge advantage, but in case of defenders its just too huge in advantage in my opinion. In case of lasers adn nuc especially cause fighting against nuc in close distance is now almost impossible, personally if i see the guy with nuc im trying to be as far as i can. Nuc also makes it impossible to fight with this guy if he stands on cage or jail whatever u will call it. But i like the fact that attacker will now have harder job to rush the pool in last seconds it defenders have rockets. So generally, for nuc and laser in def this should be gone or decreased.
2. I like the new textures, guess it also helps my FPS. No further comment cause dont know much on this subject.
3. New score tabels are fine for me but this is just an impression, everybody can have a different one, but i dont like that the defender originally wich rockets gest laser point when he is hitting his opponent with railpad laser - still he is playing with rockets :P
4. Didnt tried it yet. Elite junnkie :D
5. The hottest topic. Generally on public server i dont mind defenders has laser, but i have to say its reload time should be longer then attackers and they should have the same stamina amount. Nuc also shoul have longer reload time. These weapons are suppose to make new tactics but they should have some disadvantages.
6. Cant tell anything
7. Didnt notice any difference really but i have not try mastering walljumps before so i understand guys who says its totall different.
8 - 11. Cant tell anything, havent tried it or dont see the difference.
12. This is the thing i like cause sometimes i just forgot to add serv i had good connection with.
13 - 17. Cant tell anything, havent tried it or dont see the difference.
18. No i know how lame i am :P
And cant wait for point 19 and 20. Hope it will be fine.

General remarks.
Great work with FPS increase.
More to be done in terms of balance on elite. Maybe enable to choose only one special weapon in defence ? if not u got make them reload longer and take of instant reload in case of hit. I want the game to be hard but not impossible :P it was not impossible on public by i can imagine playing against some good teams with tactics. I would leave insta reload of rockets but maybe make it 1/3 or 1/4 instead of 50% cause during rushing pool with 3 defenders on board it will be probably insane :P no possiblity of make myself ninja :D.
Generally i think U did a lot, and even more to help defenders. One last thing i forogot about is a "laser wallhack" seems fair to have it against defender with laser, but against somebody with really nice aim still doest give as much advantage as it should. That why i also think reload time of def laser should be elongated, or maybe make them move slower, dont let them see nick of attacker when pinged, decrease their stamina or sth :P of course not all at the same time :P

All in all i like to update and wait for another ones to come.

It would be nice, if the defending team could only have no more than one nuclear and no more than one laser.
Update successful with the exception of weapons defense. 3 nucleus on "Spitfire" or 3 lasers on "Paladin" etc is bad thing.

What's up with the change in speed/stamina?
It feels like there isn't the same topspeed or same acceleration up to said topspeed anymore. Might not be that stamina changed but the speed did, resulting in me trying to compensate for lack in speed and thus using to much stamina.

Overall a nice update but the changes to Elite is just plain killing the gameplay that was. The gameplay might not be able to change to compensate at all. Even if maps changes the way the asynchronous teamplay on Elite is, makes it very touchy when it comes to changes. I suspect that no serious competition will run this mode at all for the foreseeable future and I don't blame them.

Love the bump in performance. Long overdue for me. :D I've been whining a long time about the game feeling more like unstable 30fps then the actual stable 120fps I've had.

For walljumps I feel that its been in general made to be more intuitive but at the expense of lowering the skillcap of what's possible. And some fun jumps are just broken due to the change of the blocks with the wooden edge making even more restrictions in tactical movement.
It would be fun if the skillbased double-walljump straight up a wall was still possible and in general making the skillcap a bit higher for what's possible.
For me personally it isn't the biggest deal since I never bothered about the hardest jumps but for those really good at the old walljumps this is kind off a dealbreaker.

The new castleblocktexture is much better imo. Nice one.

Now if only the servers I run would behave :P

I didn't read all these 24 pages of posting so I don't know if someone said it already.

But the ladders are not good, in my oppinion:
- There is no ladder to see
- You can't search servers per country
- In-game, the ranking is setted per continent
(also in Canyon is this problem, where you even don't see from which continent he comes)

Hopefully, you update this nicely.
For the other things, nice update :)

The menu works fine now, really stable performance atm!
I really like the interface changes, it looks more "noble" ! :thumbsup:

Keep going! As a videomaker, I hope to see (at least) some of these things in the future:

Mediatracker:
- Undo / Redo button
- When recording replays in the MT, you sometimes have to move the free camera to another point. Would be cool, if when you are finished recording the replay and you want to make a replay again, that the free camera stays at the point I was before. Otherwise, this takes minutes between actions. (Just a little fix pls!)
- When selecting a replay, there could be a little button over the simple editor which shows the mood of the replay. You can click on it and change it easily.

Spectator Mode:
- It would be better to change the view and player with right and left mouse click. It is so comfortable in other games. In Shootmania and Trackmania I have only 9 options (it seems). Left mouse click changes the player; Right mouse click changes the view. This would be cool! (Let's see what others think)

Gameplay / Interface:
- Like I have read it often, your game has too many different styles. Personally, I would like to have it clearer like you have done it in Trackmania Canyon (and you also made a big step forwards in the third beta ;) ).

Map Editor:
- It is quite annoying that you can't close the gap between the bunker sides and the next block. This makes map designing harder. I would love to see an option to build a standard castle platform block over it to close it (or something different).


Everything is a matter of taste here. But if you guys in the community agree, then please help me spread the message, so we can maybe improve some things.

So I've had more time to play Beta 3, and my initial conclusion still stands: Remove the option to choose laser on defence (Maybe even nucleus too, but still undecided on that one), it just kills what used to be fun gameplay (on attacker side atleast)

The first thing is this: With 3 lasers it's fucked up, same with 2, but problems arise with gameplay even if there's just one 1 laser on the defensive team. You end up with a weird type of defensive gameplay as an attacker where you hide behind cover and you peak and take shots and jump straight back behind cover. Atleast when defenders only have rockets you can stay out in the open from a distance and just dodge the rockets (or just shoot them). Not to mention, if you end up in a slightly bad position and you get defenders with laser/nucleus sneaking up on you from the side/behind, you have a limited space to dodge their shots because there's a guy with a laser waiting for you to come out from behind cover.

Imo, this ruins the fun completely and totally changes how Elite is played. It's now one big campfest, even as attacker (as if it wasn't a big campfest on defence already on certain maps). So you end up sneaking around cover on the maps untill you pick off the laser-guy(s) and it's no fun.

Atleast the way the game used to work was so it was up to the mapmakers to decide where nucleus and laser was available, and as an attacker you had complete control of where those zones where. I'll agree, on certain maps (IPL Rust, sigh) the gameplay is pretty much the same if they play one on railpad and you don't pick him off on the first tries. I becomes "hide behind cover and peak and try and pick the rail before you do anything else". How is this fun gameplay?

I also think the 50% instant reload is way too powerfull at times, especially with laser. This also messes a bit with defenders possibility to come out from behind cover after attacker fires off a laser, because if he hits he can have reload done by the time you get back cover. Again, it feels like this makes for more campy/defensive play, and it's not what I want.

PS! I still want old walljumps back, atleast the range of options you had with them. I'm still playing around and trying to find out if there are ways to achieve the same walljumps I used to do, but it doesn't seem like it's possible anymore. Even climbing up in corners seem awfully tricky now because of the way you're always thrown slightly away from a wall.

Minor things in update:

- When you're a spectator (Even as a player when your teammates are attacking) you have a cursor on screen at all times. This I did not like and personally I want it gone. After all, there's a key to bring up the cursor ingame.
- Still no option to choose who to spectate when you die or did I miss something?
- The new scoreboard design is great, huge improvement (although it looks a bit cramped together when you want to display hits for each weapon on defender side. Another reason to remove that defenders can choose weapon? ;) )
- Do remove the question asking me to favourite every server I visit when I leave (or let me tell it to shut up about it)

+1 with luxxiz, remove the weapon's choice for defenders ;) Just because 3 rails in def + rush = imba

mainly due to the number of the things that has to be done. Maniaplanet is big, only the list of features would make a book ^^ Changing everything to make it perfectly consistent would take too much time I think. We improve, with time, but new evolution comes on top of others. Make your favorite best 5 if you wish to help us go step by step, even if I can't tell we will take this route.

tff, we have just reduced the reload of laser by 35%, as well as its stamina by 10%. It is dynamic on servers, so it is live

munglo, too many places in maps could be reached by former walljumps, making the maps solid only with too high walls. Air control is reduced in the direction of the wall being bumped

sadzealot, I don't use the argument of the internal appreciation as an argument of being better, but as being played with time. we had opposition of the laser that were diminished with time. We don't have skill or time to play like top players and I don't say that. This is why we need them to test seriously, without insults, and eventually send us their replays.

One of the biggest problems I've been having is the new way the rankings are being displayed. Personally it is kind of hard to see if someone who is 141 in NA is high in overall rank than someone of the same rank in Europe. It does not give an intuitive way to understand how long people have been playing. Please at least give us an option to change the ranking displays back to global.

If you're not even considering that, then at least make their region visible when you click a server to see whose in it. At the moment it just says "Rank: 1" without their region. That's a little deceiving.

Implementing a in game mechanics change completely detours away from Elite mod. Its so unbalanced now, I have the option of free wall hacks to start.
(Remove the tracers from Laser Defensive Opponents if you want to stay competitive )

***** Second Off *****

You are attempting to add more complexity to a beta version of a game that needs no change!
( If you want to make things more interesting defensively, Implement a Lighting Gun with characteristics of a charge ability or shock that does a 1HIT removal )

***** Thirdly *****

If you want more professional opinionated questions ask major tournament and league officials of their opinion,

This type of game play will invert gamers from bias to unbiased competitive play!
