So did the beta officially start this week, or was it being pushed off until next week? I must have misread something earlier on in the thread, but I thought it was getting pushed to start next week.

Hylis posted that the beta will start on Monday or Tuesday.

I'm looking forward to hearing about it and seeing the reports. Or are the beta testers going under NDA because it's closed beta? Will they be able to post screenshots and stuff; or will that embargo not be lifted until closer to the real release?

The beta testers are going under NDA because it's closed beta and they won't be able to post screenshots and stuff. I think that the embargo will last until the public release.

Very sad news and also I don't get it. When sm was on alpha stage, everybody put ss's, videos etc. Now he have Update closed beta and we can't share informations? Terrific -,-

You're wrong. NDA was removed after the Alpha 3 began. There was nothing, before.
