Yeah, I did that with watch dogs.

Nowadays it's not so hard anymore to have all these platforms running, I only run steam permanently and when I want to play HOtS, I start battle.net, when I want to play dead space 3, I start origin etc.

If there's anything I'm worried about is that I couldn't stream trackmania turbo on steam. Because that's the one area Steam and uplay are really conflicting eachother sometimes I can't stream watchdogs in steam because it doesn't recognize it , as I have to add it as non steam game. And somehow the steam overlay doesn't recognize that a new game is started externally. Even when I disable the overlay from uplay it won't work.

I hope that because TMT is a steam game (will have an app number etc), these platform overlays doesn't conflict.

Anyway, My few questions i've been speculating on for TMT are:

- Are there dedicated servers for tmt or do you run the shards yourself for console and pc users ? (maybe only dedi's for PC ?)
- I wouldn't be surprised if some import and skin modding features are disabled in tmt, is that the case ? or is it allowed with PC version ?
- Would lagoon tracks made in Turbo be compatible with next year's MP update ? Are they stored in some sort of cloud for the console version so users don't lose them on console reformat ?
- will selfmade tracks be sharable with other users ? And can they be added to online sessions in some capacitiy ? (on console)

Maybe live p2p sessions and not servers like in many console games

Yeah, I was thinking that too and it really seems to be the case from the information in the blog, that they needed to set up infrastructure for settings. So my question is more specificly, can we run dedicated servers on the pc side :)

Since it's a repeated question and even if we will say more about online later, I think it's better to clarify early that the hosting will be done by us with dedicated servers on which players will be capable to launch with their playlist. So, there will be no dedicated server managers running. It will be the same on consoles & PC.

Since we won't have the possibility to host a server, how will it work for custom maps? Are they all stored by Nadeo?
Will we join any server, search for any map author/name and add it the playlist?

Quite an important part of the PC legacy will go lost then...
I'm just wondering: why have you chosen to leave out the community in hosting servers (you could've done it at least on the PC version)?

We'll give more information later on how the online will work and how the custom maps will be handled ;)

This is really sad :( this was the main part of TM that you can play on custom servers on custom maps. :| :0010

But anyway, I'm looking forward to TMT.

Its not ManiaPlanet, its Turbo, so its not the same. But Hylis says "players will be capable to launch with their own playlist"
....
so imagine an in-game lobby system where you make a 'room' and add the maps you want, and then others join.... its close to how TMO was in the old days.... (not that I know...)

If you want community made server plugins and all that stuff, then you will find your way to ManiaPlanet

Actually the server choice seems to make sense to me if the vision is to try to steer players to the PC ManiaPlanet community. That could be one of the marketing points...?
