Hey, guy.

Again, let me reiterate, this can all be explained by physics, and the nature of momentum and inertia. This happens in the real world with a car that matches this design (e.g., a Ford Mustang or similar muscle car) at high speed--but only now is TM technically advanced enough to properly compute this in its engine.

I did hear him say "you have less air control than in previous versions"
I think that is a good thing, because even if it is handy to get you out of tight situations, it makes it a bit too unrealistic imo (i talk about stadium here, i don't know if it is as pronounced in all other environments)

After I saw this movie, I'm more keen on to buy this game. Especially I like the sky - it's not like previously a horizon, and the overall graphics are presenting well. And I think cvg's video shows almost everything in relation to all the rest of the videos.
About this bug you're speaking: in the last phase of preparing to jump he turned a little bit on the left and simultaneously tried to turn right, which caused the "air-twisting", of course, caused by a bug, however, it isn't excluded it was actually a bug, like Knuts says:
.

Edit: Sometimes I'm curious is it's just me, or no-one is reading my posts.

did you hear the engine sound? Sounds for me similar to Nations sound?..

I understand the physics fine, and agree with you... but none of us knows enough to say whether there is any bugs in the physics or not either. For all we know, it could be a mix of the user's controls and defects in the physics engine.
Personally, I think it was user control... it looked to me like he was trying to do what he did.

For me it's also clear, that the cause for the twist the users-control is. You can see, that the car makes slight left right turns before the jump

If you watch even closer, you'll see that as he weaves, much like a real car would at high speed, the weight is transferred from side to side, causing the car to rock back and forth. Just like the Original Desert car did, but less pronounced. As the car was in mid-rock as it left the pavement, with no countering force (asphalt) beneath it, the car's momentum simply carried it into the twist. This is all very simple physics...and, actually, to use your original post--more logical than some of the previous games, as they did not have realistic suspension simulation

This.
I'm sure it's already been said - either by Nadeo or by the Ubisoft team during their conference - but the Canyon car drives more realistically than other Trackmania cars. Also the way the car launched from the start and the way it turned suggests a turn-back to the TMO style of physics (in TMO there was no airbrake), which isn't a bad thing.
Also even at fair speed the car looked very easy to control and didn't slide too much (in the long video I saw anyway) so the suggestions of the car handling 'heavier' and being easy to drive with a keyboard seems to be true.

But at least you got some kind of air control in TMO. So let's see if it will be the same with canyon.
