It's already possible, but there's not that much actitity on these kind of servers (TM² Titlepack).eyebo wrote: Definitely hope we can play all environments on the same server!

That's true!
Thanks for highlighting that kprod
I guess the difference is that ALL players of Turbo will (hopefully) be able to do that.
Whereas in ManiaPlanet it's only people who have bought all the environments separately.
If multi-env servers are somewhat the default, then it exposes people to environments they may not immediately like, and they may grow to love them over time. It's what happened to me in United with many of the environments I didn't like at first, and gradually became my favorites. Multi-env servers forced me to get better at all the environments and eventually see why each one was fun in it's own way.
Why is that even important? I believe it can extend the replay-ability of the game, which is surely a good thing.
Of course the thousands of Nations Forever players who play the same environment for years kind of negate my whole argument about that. I guess everyone is different.

The closest thing Nadeo can do to unify TM2 is to force players in the spectator mode if they don't own the envi.
This way, a player can still chat with his friends and also, he will be able to see countless maps made by other players, see how the environment looks and make a decision to buy it.

Re: Hello Planet #5
Or keep all TM enviros in demo mode and limit to one hour time on that environment (if that is easy enough to code) -- otherwise they could say after some number of tracks they would force spec? That way it's not just see, but try before you buy.CrAzYdriv3r wrote:The closest thing Nadeo can do to unify TM2 is to force players in the spectator mode if they don't own the envi.

Re: Hello Planet #5
Isn't the TM2 title free to play for infinite time since it has less than 100 players? It's not like people know about its existence or care...

Re: Hello Planet #5
That's a good question. I thought universal demo players were somewhat limited on availability to play other titles besides the main TM2 titles and Storm? Am I mistaken?

Re: Hello Planet #5
As far as I know it applies to every single existing title. Some time ago there were worries it'd be abused (since you could create dummy titles etc.), yet I feel like nobody uses it at all
.

Let's be honest here, TM Turbo is what TM2 should have been since the begining, all environments together in one title, a nice looking UI, easy to use and that's why I'm very hyped for it, oh and I'm managing to get friends to buy the game since it's not envi separated like TM2

Re: Hello Planet #5
While I agree with what you're saying about wanting all TM2 united together, your thoughts support the concerns about the community splitting. Are those that share you view going to all defect over and only play TMT, leaving lower numbers in ManiaPlanet? I hope you all will still play both. I still like the flexibility MP offers, I just hope there is a way to have both... is that something different than Title Packs? Don't know.Filipe1020 wrote:Let's be honest here, TM Turbo is what TM2 should have been since the begining, all environments together in one title, a nice looking UI, easy to use and that's why I'm very hyped for it, oh and I'm managing to get friends to buy the game since it's not envi separated like TM2
On another note, I tried a new Universal Demo account and TGYoshi is accurate. I can play both TM2 title and RPG.
The interesting thing is... It seems to be counting against whichever title the map you're on is tied to. That said, on a TM2 title server that ran equal maps from each each enviro, a player could get 3 hours of play in a session... more if there were less players in any of those three titles (Valley right now has 78, the rest are over 100).
Granted, I'm on the 48-hour timer right now... I'll have to follow-up when that account is down to the 1-hour/day/title.
