its probably only in Maniaplanet 2 Beta, because they gave you the option of staying with Maniaplanet1 to go offline or lan.
I bet on the newer releases offline will be possible.
But as no announcement was made, all you can do is wait.
or rage quit.

I have asked this Hylis in his short Q & A thread in the French part of the forum,
and the answer was: offline play is not available, and he doesn't know when it will be available again.
Sorry that there are no better news.

Help me please...!!!
I have just bought the game and downloaded it over the space of 11 hours. I was so keen to play but when i started it up it said i required an update. So i started downloading the update and it keeps timing out with numerous errors. (http error 12 150 and others) Whenever i click retry nothing happens so i have to give-up everytime. All i want to do is play offline and create new tracks to race on with my mates.
Where can i download the updates manually from??? There must be manual updates somewhere.
Please Help..

Hi There, not sure if this is the correct spot to post, but it came up in a search, so I thouught I would start here.
I am also having issues with updates to canyon. I have only recently started playing this again, so went through a few updates to the game. a few days ago, I think it said it was updating 1.2e beta, approx. 164Mb, two files, TMCanyon.pak and another that I didn't see the name of. The game has gone through the download, and looks like it is installing, but then comes up with an error message : Cannot update game or title files and nothing works on the screen (no buttons clicking). I re-tried a couple of times, and then stopped, thinking the server may be busy. Anyway, I tried again today and it updated the main Mainiaplanet files now problem. I then went to go and play Canyon, and again it came up with an update required (Beta1.3). Went through the download, and again, no dice on it working. Is there somewhere I can downdload the update outside of the game? Thanks in advance.

You can get the full installer from
https://player.maniaplanet.com/account/downloads if you login with your user/pass.
I'm not sure the installer is updated to 1.3, but hopefully it is.

Thanks Eyebo,
So it will mean starting from scratch again (third time), (1.1Gb download vs 164Mb update). Is there anywhere you can just get the update?

Only in-game via the auto-update.
Make sure you have administrator access on your PC. You need it in order for the update to work. After it finishes downloading in-game it'll close the game and run the update. It'll ask for administrator permission in windows. You accept and then it'll start ManiaPlanet again.
I understand you have trouble even getting it to download the update though. Not sure what to do about that. If you had a friend who has it, he could send you the updated files from C:\ProgramData\ManiaPlanet\PacksCache
Translations.zip
ManiaPlanet.pak
ManiaPlanet_extras.zip
TMCanyon_extras.zip
ManiaPlanet.zip
Those are the files that appear to have been updated with this latest update. At least those are the ones updated in that folder.

All three files have a Last-Modified timestamp of Sep 7, so they are.
