What an "interesting" way to do things...
As one of the first to buy this actual game Im more and more surprised about how things get handeled at nadeo.
A closed beta for upcoming changes in a already final game?
Decent idea but with the already low playerbase to limit the access to this beta seems... weird to say the least.
Why would you want to even decrease the amount of feedback more? Is it because people couldnt like the update and you're afraid of that? If so no worries there has already been so many disappointments that only the core fans are still here and they wont leave even if its gonna be worse.

Here is to hope that nadeo will listen to the feedback of these testers and maybe listen to the community so the game will get more popular again.
I would appreciate it if paying customers and long time players were able to get involved into the developing process but oh well...
Lets just hope that it will be good.

From Page 19:
Hylis wrote:It's quite like chris & thatoneguy said. We know some experts and there are many fields: scripts, hosting, maps & mediatrack etc. There could be also different phases, where we welcome more players after, either directly, either with people inside the beta being capable to invite other players to make tests. What we have seen is that the more there are players the less the feedback are good.

inb4 lasers for defenders again...

The less people there are to give feedback the more the feedback will be "opinionated".
If there are more players to give feedback, the devs could make sure that this truly is what the community wants and not some fancy feature that one person would love to see.

well the only thing left to say is that I hope these experts are carefully chosen...

Ur oversimplifying :) People will be added later to the beta. So dont worry about it.
The neverending waiting game has to stop.

Did you mean with great power?
:) I actually meant it the way I said it. It was intended as a humorous play on the quote.

@Joade:
I'm guessing the idea is to get some initial bug reports and minimal feedback without a flood of ranting thus allowing them to focus more on the most important issues.

Too many feedbacks is bad for us and testers because we can not answer all and they feel it's more useless. We have made beta with more players, and it was just not working at start. The good thing is to start with a small number, and the less there are things to be done, to increase the number of testers, because it becomes too difficult for testers to test everything at each update and to find the remaining issues.

We have made tens of beta phase, and I know that this one already start with nearly too many players. It's going to be rock n' roll. But it's going to be cool for the players that arrive after.

I would like to do stupid games. I should have made it for the start, since it's the spirit of really giving a chance to new players, but I was really too busy. Each minute since months.

It might be better not to post such things in the public forums... ;)
