Sounds nice...now I wonder if storm is referring to the enviro itself, or the central game mode to be played there, as in "storm the castle"

Maybe Cryo went the way of Valley...with the idea of trying to release the enviros on schedule, then maybe they had to change some things around in order to get it to work...

Yup, in the interview on TM-Actu, Hylis revealed that Storm will be the first SM environment.
Also he underlines that the game is really aimed to be used as a competition game, and that Nadeo is in close contact with competitive players and organisations to be sure that they will succeed to make the game perfectly fitted for competitiveness. (nice word :geek: )
Of course he did not forget to mention that the game will be very beautiful, with light effects similar as in TM², reflecting from one object to another in a very advanced way.

Hmm...thought: If it's so tuned toward competition, what about casual players such as myself? Will there still be enough options for simply slightly competitive, but less hardcore play?

Sure, just play on servers with "casual" maps and "casual" players. :)
Look at TM, it is very competition oriented too, but the biggest number of players remain the "casual" ones.
I think what Hylis tries to say is more that is has perfect possibilities for competitions.
Better to have the possibilities, but not having to use them than don't have the possibilities at all ;)

They said that they develop the game for players of course but at each step they asked between them if it's good or not for eSport. That's why he talks about competitions, because they think at eSport to be more famous and more known
