1. Pay once, get all future updates free.

2. Start for free, pay for every new thing you want to do.

I'll always take choice one, thank you.
1. Pay 3 times, get no community with 3 different environments so playerbase gets divided.

2. Play for free, get amazing map development tools and lots of blocks-packs where people can choose to pay for
so they can develop amazing tracks with a big community!

I prefer nr. 2

Being free isn't going to stop people from playing whichever environment they like best. And it isn't going to attract new players by itself either. Nadeo and Ubisoft would end up making less money from it than they're making right now, because half the community won't want to pay for an editor even if they would like to build maps were the editor to come with the game. Adding to that, if the editor wasn't part of the package it would only encourage community coders to develop their own editors for the game. You saw that all the time in the 90s, which was the last time I've seen any game developer release their editor commercially. You can guess why nobody does it anymore.
It's better than a free to play, pay to win model... but it would never work.

Or 3. Combine the 3 environments in one game and pay only 1 time

That, is the best way to go.

Nº 2 will only get Nadeo to bankrupt because nobody will pay for blocks.

It would work if we were willing to wait a lot longer for a game. And if Nadeo had been making enough money in the meantime that they wouldn't go bankrupt while still working. Ubisoft probably wouldn't like it because they'd have to support Nadeo until there was a product to sell, which would also take a lot longer.
I wouldn't mind waiting, and I get the impression you wouldn't mind waiting  but it feels like for a lot of people in this suddenly fast-paced, instant-gratification-based world patience is no longer a virtue.

Are there no other ways to get money out of free to play in TM?
Because i think to attract a lot of players is an important part for the TM universe (because of content creation).

But how to make money from F2P in a TM game is difficult task, I understand this, and I don't know the solution.

I think the popularity for TM for the mainstream audience comes from stadium F2P.
We are talking 10.000.000 registered players. Is there really no way to get money from a part of these players
in some form of F2P.

Dont get me wrong, I paid for a lot of TM games and I'm glad i did! 20 euro's is a good price for me.
But looking at stadium, 10.000.000 other players don't think its worth the price.

Why do you guys think stadium is such a succes? Just like to know what's the problem here!

... and almost everybody in my environment that plays TM2 did that for a couple of days, then stopped, told me it sucks, and went back to stadium. So I think thats a problem too. Stadium has that touch, that doesn't happen verry often to a game.

And offcourse a lot forummembers disagree, its a niche group. I think the majority thinks otherwise.

Its just like, as long as there is a way to play without money you are not going to pay for it. For example, I started myself with the TMSdemo and had so much fun that I never even thought about buying the full game as I could still play this game for free. Only after the TMSdemo master server was shut down I bough Sunrise and since then I bought all games. Even if people don't like it, my solution would still be to shut down the TMNF and ESWC master server and then you see how many people are willing to buy the new game or not. I bet a lot of people will.
And about the 10.000.000 players, there are many multi-accounts used for TMN. I just got emails in the last weeks to delete my accounts (3 nation accounts). And I know a lot of people who had more accounts than me. Therefore, I would guess an estimate of true accounts would be more close to 5-6 million players which includes approximately 800.000 or more TMU accounts.
If you are able to only get half of the TMN players to buy TM2S, this would still triple the amount of players playing the game online.

I guess this is mostly because there are to less players online on TM2S. Else both games are more or less identical except better graphics in TM2S and all of the foundations of ManiaPlanet (at least interesting for players who do more than simply racing).

Do you ask Electronic Arts to have the next Need for Speed for free if you have paid the previous one ?

That's the same thing here ;)
