Ahh, I understand your point now. So you are saying that because the game is allowing analog gas/brake on one axis only it won't work properly in game even if the controller has a separate axis used for each. I didn't realize that. Analog brake would be nice but if it is not available then brake on/off and analog gas would be acceptable. Lifting off the gas is a bit like analog braking in a round about way.

But in such case it is not possible to use a pedal (or an analog pad trigger) to brake.

Brake and trottle on analog pedals/triggers are already possible, but it actually needs to use alternate drivers, which allow to remap them to keys. The problem is that such drivers are not full compatibles with all other games, which sometime need the original drivers to give full functionalities.
Making the player have to choose between TM and other games, to play how they would like, is not really good...

I agree. The problem is that a truly unified driver doesn't exist. This is due to the nature of all the levels of game controllers there are. Some are digital, most are part analog and digital...etc. Just being windows compatible isn't enough I don't think. I would suggest that TM2 be able to use the highest level of control available but with switches to shut off unused axises.
This would mean at most that there needs to be 4 analog axises available. brake, gas, steering, and clutch. Clutch may not be necessary at all because I don't know how far the designers are going down the realism road.

By the way, My new Logitech g27 controller came in the mail today. Centering is still a bit loose and I had to increase the dead zone to be able to do a PF start. The steering feels loose. I'm not happy. The MS force feedback wheel is still tops for steering control for me. Too bad they don't make them anymore. :(

After learning how to configure this controller I have found it not lacking in any way. Centering is still a bit lacking but if one holds still it will do a press forward start just fine. The amount of steering adjustment is amazing. I have it set for 152 degrees steering left to right (900 maximum possible) and so stadium tech is possible for me like never before with a wheel.
