What about just putting the 4 lobby maps for now, and we'll see if people would like to remove some eventually ?

From my point of view you have 3 options here:

1. Add every Lobby map which gets suggested here without removing any old lobby map (only a short time solution cause the number of lobby maps might get to high one day)

2. Keep a certain number of lobby maps on the server and decide yourself if a map which gets suggested here is better than at least one of the current lobby maps and remove the worse lobby map if that´s the case.

3. I don´t know if maniacontrol supports karma votes also for lobby maps but if it does it would be nice to use it. That way Lobby maps could be evaluated by the community and you could see whether a change of lobby maps needs to be done and if the change was a good solution or not. (best solution from my point of view)

If we just discuss here, we have basically "nothing" to do. If we put karma system, we have to install it, maintain it, etc. So it's more time-consuming

We'll just go with the flow and do what we think is best, and we'll be open to feedback here if people want to request changes. It works well with match servers maps now, so i'm confident it will be just fine with lobby maps too

The 2nd season is starting this Saturday. I would love to introduce the ( updated ) maps to the community

If you really think that people would bother opening the forums to leave their feedback to maps here, then you are really an optimist... Of course this doesn´t count for everyone but what I would like to achieve here is some statistic which means you need a lot of feedback and the only way to get it is to implement a way to give feedback easily into the game. In the case of Lobby maps a simple karma vote system like it´s already used for elite maps and maps of different gamemodes would be enough I guess.

No-one will complain officially if something about the lobby maps sucks. If that´s your definition of "just fine" it´s the right way to go. But just because no-one complains it doesn´t mean that everything is fine and that´s what I would like to find out^^

Let´s have a close look why it works that well with the match server maps. The mappack consists of 2 parts:

First part comes from the Paragonleague where the community can decide about one map which gets added every month and the least played map will be erased.
-> whole competitive playing community can decide (and even here the number of votes is a lot lower than the number of players who participate in the tournaments I think)

2nd part comes from the Cplay Series where decisions get made by Dreammy and the participants of the tournament.
-> pro community decides

So in both cases the players who "are forced" to play the maps decide. Why should it be different for Lobby maps? Would mean that everyone who plays on this server should be able to at least give their opinion and the easiest way to achieve that is with karma votes^^

If you wanna decide about the lobby maps by yourself then feel free to do so but the first post didn´t really sound like you really want to do that^^ And after all it´s a community game, isn´t it?
