Oh, and Ravious? I -am- a parent. To a three year old. And when my child gets older, if they ever stumble across something like this in an online game, you'd better bet I'd be e-mailing or on the phone with the devs to see that the content was removed if it wasn't intentional.
As a good parent, you shouldn't even let that stumbling happen ESPECIALLY if there are tools available so you can stop it.

The internet is a fecal swamp. I don't even have thick skin anymore because I know I am wading constantly through poo. What I can do is join communities that value my morals and rise above the filth.

So the answer is: protect your community.*

In this case if Nadeo bans the mofo, so be it. But, I wouldn't rely on that if I chose to open up the option to see crass cars, skins, and avatars. I would rely on finding, building, and maintaining a healthy community.

*n.b. all of TM2 is not a community.

Look if its that bad then ban every flag you can think off coz bad things fall under every flag made and used.
The union jack, or flag of great Britain hasn't got the cleanest of history's and its not band that I'm aware of.

People need to get a grip here.
The shape of the Nazi symbol go's all the way back to Egypt and more than likely before then.

I'm not saying or supporting what any one has posted, but in this day and age PEOPLE need to stop looking at the past and look to the future.

Those days are gone even if only 60 to 70 years ago or what ever.
I have no problem with what any one wants to put on a car or on there homes or say to my face.
There the ones having to look like ------- infront of every body.

Its down to this " Political correctness " crap again.
The word " Political correctness " is more of an insult to me than anything i may see or here.
Just go with the flow and worry about yourself not others.

This post is not meant to offend any body it what i have written, So don't take it to heart, i wouldn't.
And apart from that you cant race and post at same time. Vroom Vroom.

And there are far worse things in life right now that i would be more worried about really.
Take care and happy racing.

And I do understand this. Maybe you and I are coming from different sides of the same issue here. I understand that Nadeo can't be a police force to every single one of its approximately 10 million players, but the reason I'm being a bit bulldog-y with this issue is that the reaction from some of the posters here seems to be "meh, I'll just hide under a rock and hope that it goes away." Or "Eh, it could be worse, just ignore it." It's still not right and I think that issue needs to be addressed. Whether or not Nadeo does anything about it is, ultimately, their choice. But it's still a swastika. It's not even the manji...it's a german nazi swastika. Period. That's my point.

I haven't read through most of this thread; but when you try to open TM for the first time, you AGREE to see other peoples skin/avatars online. So if you don't want to be offended, I suggest you DISAGREE on that option.

It's your own fault. And you seem to get very easily offended.

Or at any time after that, go to Profile -> Advanced, and turn off 'Show Avatars' and 'Allow custom car models'.

People seem to think that the offense stops if custom car designs can not be seen. I assure you, that is definitely not the problem here. The problem is not solved if some people chose not to see it. I want to see those markings to identify the person for what he is and claim that he be removed.

Also, "political correctness" has nothing to do with it. This is about Nazi symbols (and for those who really don't get a clue: also MEANT as Nazi symbols obviously), imported into the game, to be seen by millions of players worldwide. You don't get "offended" by that like you would by sexual images. You get offended by that like you would by someone who wants to extinguish an entire people if the chance arises. Also, it's quite obvious that this is not about "the past", not about "60 years ago". This is about the here and now, right on your servers.

That said, I really hope that NADEO has already reacted, thus making this discussion obsolete until another one of them turns up. Yeah, feel free to post it here.

As an American, I Love my Right to Freedom of Speech, which includes symbolism and litterature (yes I left the mistake as its more appropriate for this subject). Here it would be Ok for his paintjob and your complaint!! However, being as this is a game from a French Company, on French Servers, I suppose we'll all have to submit to their ruling on this one. But I will say that here in America the only color that really matters anymore is Green. All the racist BS is Sideshow-Bob BS, a distraction for the small-minded.

It does solve the problem. The people who get offended by a car skin, shouldn't disable the possibility to see other peoples skin. Most people wouldn't care about this, I mean seriously, if you get offended by a car skin, you are the problem. This is just an example of free speech, and you don't want to allow people that.

I'm not trying to make a big discussion here, but you want to apply censoring to a game. That makes you just as bad as the Nazis (HELLO GODWIN). OK last sentence wasn't very serious :D but you shouldn't really care about other peoples belief, even if they do no good. And lastly: this is the internet, you ought to expect things like this.

I didn't check in which country you actually live, but you might want to do a lot of reading on the right of free speech. As in: Why it is established, what it means, where it does not apply. Drawing that card here means not understanding why people fight for free speech, as I very well do.
eie wrote:I'm not trying to make a big discussion here, but you want to apply censoring to a game.
No censorship to NADEO property is applied at all. In fact, if you want to look at it from this perspective, I'd say the artistic integrity of the game is in danger and the creators have to restore it right now.

Blimey, looks like you have to do a lot of reading on the Nazis as well, serious or no. :D I care about other people's belief the second that belief actively threatens the existence of other human beings, and I consider this behavior to be quite normal. And lastly: What makes you think that there was surprise finding that guy online? I did well expect that stuff, but there's no less need to get rid of it. This is not something that can be sit out.

I always have a bit of a problem with ppl who go about trolling others with extreme stuff that is publicly accepted as being not done or offensive. Not because I'm so offended myself because as freud says "a cigar is sometimes just a cigar", but it's about the quality of interaction with others and always wanting negative attention for themself.

Next time you know there'll be an anders breivik skin and a horn that says LOLUMADBRO... oh, but ppl just have to live with that. This kinda thing tells allot about the empathic qualities of the person in question I say, not about the ones that are offended.
