Not exactly true, but Maniaplanet 4 does fix this issue. Until MP4 releases, you can use Maniafix to fix this issue.
Thanks for your efforts. It seems to work, I played for a few hours and all seems well so far.
I seriously thought TM just hated me as it's been doing that for years throughout a few different boards/video cards, but other games were stable. One common thread is I've always used a controller and it would usually crash when I was chatting.
